pics of tokina 11-16 mm in action at f/2.8?

Not sure why the interest in this lens died down suddenly.

I believe that the others are also hoping and praying. But, somehow the prices are still going up. Pray harder to the Japanese Gods. :bsmilie:

Hi Gurus, can this lens be used with Canon 5D?

Just a pic where the Tokina's f2.8 came in handy... ;)
never regretted my purchase!

Which one is better ? Tokina 11-16mm or Nikkor 12-24mm for shooting group of people ?

I tried to shoot group of people with Nikkor and why there is strong vignetting ? Do I have a bad copy ?

How about vignetting in this Tokina for Nikon mount ?

No regrets for me too. Great lens. Reposted un-PPed picture straight from camera.

ah... Holland. Was there last year around this period.

Does anyone ever did a comparison with the old 12-24? I am owning a Tokina 12-24, not sure there's significant change or not.

remove the filter and u have a 15-16mm 'zoom'. if that helps :bsmilie:

Good lens for night landscape photography without using tripod.

Those working as home valuators will swear by it too.

Well, no and yes. You can mount it on a 5D, but it'll be as good as having a 16mm prime. Any wider and you'd experience vignetting.

Thanks! Looks like i would not be able to go beyond 14mm prime after all... besides the Fisheye...:(

Bros and Sistas, for comparison, I have used various modes in taking the following pictures. No post processing whatsoever. Tokina 11-16mm, I am still loving it.

#1 - Taken using Standard mode, Centre Metering and Auto DR.

#2 - Taken using Standard mode, Spot Metering and Auto DR

#3 - Taken using Standard mode, Centre Metering and Auto DR (pic is darker compared to #2)

#4 - Taken using DR400% and Centre Metering (notice that colour saturation is increased visibly)

#5 - Taken using F2 mode and Centre Metering (notice that the colour is very saturated)

One thing which impresses me is how little distortion is has for such a wide angle. Besides the normal wide angle effect- the lines in an image still stay pretty straight. On the Sigma 10- 20mm things got warped a little more.
