U guys r really poisonous.
ZoomZ said:The Novoflex authorised dealer is at Peninsula Plaza, the shop beside Cathay Photo (Shop name is Prime Camera, #01-15). That shop sells mainly used Leica lenses, and they have really nice collections of great lenses!
The price is $280. If you are a little tight in budget, Voigtlander one is at $250, and you can get it from Chiif cameras which is 5 mins walk from there.
Thanks! Got to save up liao. I
ZoomZ said:Haha... You got to save up for more after getting the adapter as you will be tempted with more lenses after getting the adapter!
Anyway, the Novoflex and Voigtlander are solidly built with Novoflex slightly better than the Voigtlander. They will be good if you intend to use heavier lenses. But if you are using a lighter lens, paying $280 for a adapter don't make a lot of sense for some Nex users here.
Novoflex only comes with matt black (looks more like very dark grey) but Voigtlander comes with black or silver set.
Don't look at M Lenses then, as none of them are in the "cheap" category unless it is quite an used set.
There are a lot is happy users who enjoys their Nex 7 with contact g lenses from Carl zeiss which are more decent in pricing. You won't need to buy the Novoflex adapter than. I have m lenses because I can use on both my Leica and Nex 7.
If you are used to AF, you may find manual focusing a different way of shooting. Perhaps you can just invest in the sigma Nex lenses (both 19mm and 30mm are great lenses) and then the 50mm f1.8. Or stretch a little for a CZ24mm f1.8 and you won't need the sigma lenses.

thanks for the advice. might just get Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f/1.7 C/Y first.
Lotza them in BnS & eBay... a worthy lens to get... Unless U got lotza money like kei1309 & ZoomZ... then get the Voigtlander 35mm f1.2 with the Novoflex adapter...;p

Got lotza money will not get the Voigtlander 35mm F1.2, but the Leica 35mm F1.4 Summilux FLE, a Leica 50mm F0.95 Noctilux and also the tri-elmar 18-18-21 F4. Should be complete with these 3 lenses.
In the M-mount world, a 35mm F1.2 lens with price like the Voigtlander is unbelievably cheap.... if it is a Leica Brand, it will be more than $5K.
Going back to the Voigtlander 35mm F1.2. It is a marvellous lens, but it is very BIG lens compared to a Leica/Zeiss 35mm lens. Guess for the IQ, comes with the weight and size....
The Leica's R mount are big lenses also and they are affordable dunno why they are not so famous? maybe because of the size? here's some sample cheaper Leica's: Elmarit-R 135 f2.8 and Elmarit-R 90 f2.8 another nice and lastly the Summicron-R 50mm f2
M Mount lenses are more well known because of its smaller size and superb quality. A Leica 35mm F1.4 Summilux FLE is much sharper than any other lenses which is bigger in size, such as Canon L or Nikon lenses.
There are many Leica M users and with the demand for all the Leica M lenses, the supply is always insufficient since they are hand-made and individually tested for quality. For e.g. buying a Noctilux means paying for the lenses for more than $16K and waiting for the lens for 3-6months for stock to arrive, with a long queue with other buyers. By the time your Noctilux stock arrives, you can probably sell it at a nice profit (unused or mint set of course) above the retail price since some buyers would not want to wait for that long.
There are also collectors keeping high end or limited edition lenses and they actually appreciate in value over the years. Most of the high end lenses are priced 5% higher each 1-2year in retail price and thus some buyers are willing to pay more for them.
Leica R mount are bigger lenses and if you can live with the size and weight, they are superb as well.
