Photozone: Most current NEX lenses are not good enough for the NEX-7!

I think this lens when mounted to NEX 7 will be awesome this was mounted to a much smaller sensor and not known for very good ISO

That piece of glass renders nicely!

Judging by that and numerous other photos I've seen, Leica's fast glass when shot wide open isn't compromised by veiling flare and/or low contrast as are comparable offerings by canikon and others.

Yeah bro I have not tried closing down the aperture of this lens these are wide open shots and the rendering come to think there's NR enabled due to high ISO I was surprise with the details.... we all know EP3 is not as good as NEX5n in term is ISO but was really surprise when the photo came out.

Bro get the R-mount dunno why ppl see these lens as inferior compare to the more famous LTM/M or M39 versions. Bro I have one more this one another Leica Elmarit-R 90 f2.8 @ wide open

I am wondering how this lens will perform on NEX 7 or my A77?? There's a conversion mount kit but I need to remove the R-Mount and replace it with A-Mount not that keen and dont want to do such mod these great lens.... sigh I must resist NEX7....

My pal is using R90/f2.8 on his NEX 5n. Beautiful photos outta this piece of glass all d time. Gotta try it on my NEX 7 and share wif you guys ya... Cheers.

Careful bro once you get poison there's no cure... I got bitten and I went gaga to hunt for these lenses. To the point I sacrifice my NEX7 budget just to get these lenses :-(

Haha... I guess it's a matter of time I get deeply poisoned much. Looking forward to hunt down these good lenses in HK when I travel there in Oct... LOL

The NEX-7 seems to be incredibly synergistic with classic glass. I think Sony designed it with some foresight that has escaped the masses thus far.

Dunno that ppl see R mount as inferior . . . it's just that for NEX, M or LTM mount is smaller, lighter, and the WA's have less distortion.

I have one R mount and am presently stalking the APO macro 100mm f/2.8 . . . thought about getting the Leitax conversion mount for my 100mm f/4, but I do all my macro on NEX; so no need.

Haha... You got to save up for more after getting the adapter as you will be tempted with more lenses after getting the adapter!

Anyway, the Novoflex and Voigtlander are solidly built with Novoflex slightly better than the Voigtlander. They will be good if you intend to use heavier lenses. But if you are using a lighter lens, paying $280 for a adapter don't make a lot of sense for some Nex users here.

Novoflex only comes with matt black (looks more like very dark grey) but Voigtlander comes with black or silver set.

Actually can try metabone~ its about $120. The whole adapter is made of brass and I've been using the stylo red one for my heavy cv35/1.2 for months~ very very stable. But I'm using 5n only.. must avoid the nex7 poison in this thread..

I wonder they come out a better Battery pack, i keep annoyed when a friend came and say "My D7000 can shoot 3 times more than your NEX" =____=" i said how you compare a DSLR to MILS. =) but i hope Nex-9 can have feature that similar to Olympus OMD-EM5 the 5-Axis... or maybe greater and with more up to date lens, =/
