1min 36secs on athlon 3200+ with 2gb ram + bittorrent+firefox running in background..

anyone with a macpro tested yet?

From what I have been told and heard, Photoshop CS 2 will run sloweron the Macpros as it isn't optimized to run on the new Intel chips. Probably the next version will run at the speed it should be running.

yes i know.. but i am still interested to know how the macpro performs with non-native software (and then if the results are good, look forward to the native version of PS). :)

PS CS2 crawls on my puny 1.83ghz macbook with 1.5GB RAM hahaha

just contributing to this ever-undying thread. anyone curious about Intel Core2 6600/2GB RAM O'ced performance?

run windows and windows version PS CS2 on the macbook and test

sadly not a macpro joho. but with macbook 1.83 and 1 gig ram - 2 mins, 13 seconds.

I tried on mine. dunno if i have done it correctly. it's 30sec.

i am using PS CS2 30-day Tryout as I am using Gimp.
(I got 28-day left to try out.... I can test again for a while only)

I got it at exactly 1 min 06 secs running the tests 3 times. :bsmilie:

My specs as follows:
PS CS2
Pentium Core 2 Dual 1.86mhz
2GB DDRII SDRAM 800mhz
320GB SATA II HDD
GeForce 7300 GT 256MB

Running the usual programs like Outlook, Windows Explorer, IE, MSN Messenger, Anti-virus, etc.

For those running Norton Anti-virus 2006 with less than 1GB of RAM, try disabling it for a test. I have installed this version on several early P4 PCs & Notebooks and observe a significant lag in the system after installation. :)

81 secs. i got an asus notebook with intel dual 1.6 ghz.. 512 mb of ram.. intregated video card..

when it was processing, i opened the task manager.. i could see that the memory in use was only 453 mb only.. i guess i settled wrong setting.. hihihi

That's really quite fast. Maybe you could run the test again and reconfirm.

well no matter wat it's still a quad core. would be even faster when PS becomes native to the mac? :)

I tested a few times. This is what I got. Is it supposed to look like this? Note: this is a resized for web display.

yeah looks right.. :)

paul, which macpro is yours? the 2.66mhz quad?

It shld be correct. I took me 1 min 6 secs for a Core2 Dual 1.86 whereas it took about 2mins for a Pentium D.. So Quad shld perform better than 1min :)

My iMac 2.16ghz Intel Core 2 Dual did it at 1min 15sec
