Every time I go on leave, I end up spending money.....
When I saw it on the shop display, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.
Did Pentax even have a 100mm f2? or was it 100mm f2.8 and my eyes were tired....
Its so rare that the very comprehensive sites like PF, bdimitrov, MFforums, etc did not have samples.
Not even with a google seach.
I just could not pass it up.
Managed to try out the lens today with the kids during the usual park walk.
I think I'm blown away........

Sharp is one thing (and its pretty good as far as I can tell from casually looking at some shots at 100%), but I don't look out for sharpness in lenses much nowadays.
Most reputable lenses are pretty decent from what I can tell having had quite a few.
The overall look attracts me more, these days.
And this 100/2 certainly renders very beautifully to me.
Last set from me here for ytd trip to the johor zoo,it is only 2RM for the entrance fees,i think it is worthy to go and take a walk there with family if there is any chance,take alook at one of the oldest zoos in Malaysia as it was built in the year of 1928

Some sources say that only about 200pcs were ever made.
If its true, then it explains why its so ultra rare.
From its performance, I can also see why anyone who has it will hide in a cave with his 'preciousss.... '
Some call it a 'phantom lens', since no one has ever come up to claim that he/she has one nor are there picture samples.
Since its real, perhaps it should be called 'Gollum's lens"

how did you manage to get hold of one?
As I ascended Mt Peninsular, I was attracted by a blinding flash and to my disbelief, I saw a lens surrounded by bright lights but it was not burning.
I approached nearer and a booming voice spoke to me. ... "HAND ME THE MONEY"
I tried to resist, but it was too late and I could not dispel the poisonous thoughts planted in my mind.
An unknown force made me reach into my pocket and I made the offering to the being behind the altar of lenses.
Before I knew it, I found my hand holding the lens and all was dark again....
Just blind luck at the shops, I guess..

The Samyang fisheye looks pretty fun and effective.
I got to put it in my 'Buy' queue.
