Visited the S.E.A. Aquarium and got a surprise - the controversial dolphins are now on display through two large viewing panels. The dolphins definitely look healthy and very active. Hope they clean the water soon...it is actually quite murky...

Shot with K-30 & DA12-24

Nice shots!
Whats the ISO?
I'm pretty surprised that 12-24 f4 does so well in the usually dimly lit environment like this (though I might be wrong since I've only been to underwater world and not this one)

Recent shots with the K5 and Tamron 10-24mm

Agree, the dolphins look sad, freedom need not be free in the wild but is to make the best of what they have and hopefully they cheer up !
Hopeful that the aquirium biologist would take good care of them!

Greetings Earthlings! :D

Brilliant timing.

You've pretty lucky that they let you shoot.
I just took some snap shots with my Q at Stadium MRT, and they let loose the rent a cops on me.

I am sure that they will be well taken care of as the resort still need them (to survive as long as possible) to attract more $$$....

Thanks!!

Shots at ISO1000, f7.1, shutter 1/400. I think can go as low as ISO400 at f4 to maintain the shutter speed. The dolphins enclosure is quite brightly lit so need not pump up the ISO. Need to use 12-24 to shoot full length dolphin at the glass panel as the people crowd in front to see the dolphins....

Even in poor light conditions, I am comfortable to increase the ISO on my K-30 which has good high ISO performance.

Some shots using K-30 & DA35 Limited macro at ISO 4000

Thanks. Actually that's Van in the picture, so there was no timing involved. :bsmilie:

That's weird, you should clarify with them. I have shot with tripod at Stadium MRT before and the station staff just approached me to chat and ask what I was taking pictures for. He explained that there were people who shot pictures of the staff then posted it all over the Internet or something before.
