Hi everyone,

Enjoying this forum. Thought I'd share a few pictures to get started.

Tiger Shrike below my HDB block - needed to crop heavily, and then sharpened with DxO. Background is a little noisy for my taste, but at least the image is useable.

A shot from this year's RAG Day at NUS - this was the winning float, and I edited it in gimp to make the colors pop. A bit heavy for some taste, but I thought it was a fun shot.

A store-keeper in Chiang Mai. Hardly edited, and I really like Pentax's neutral colors.

More experimentation with composites.
Balancing colour and tonality is pretty eye straining...

#1 and #3 slightly underexposed. what lens did u use for these shots?

Hi Seefei,
#1 was a Sigma 300/2.8
#2 was a DA 70/2.4
#3 was the SMC 50/1.4 - the exposure was decided using the green button on the K7.

I agree about the tendency to underexpose - maybe I need to use exposure compensation.

Baracus, very interesting indeed!
Composites, mean subject and bkgnd taken at different times?

Yes JK. Still lots to learn with regards to achieving lighting balance and perspective between background and subject.
Composites do help when shooting in places where setting up stands would be frowned upon.

Thank you guys for the likes.

Went for macro round my house..found these insects, make my eye "Cocked"
