Whoa! Ken, your last few bird shots for 2011 are awesome. Such lovely colors and sharpness.

At botanic garden, saw this dog running towards me. Was so scared that it may suddenly pounce...lol

Have been viewing this thread for a while, love the pictures everyone posted. My first posting here. Would love to get some feedback so that I can improve. Thanks!

Tested out my new K5 on a trip with my wife.I have always been fascinated with star trails. 20mins (30s stackings), almost quarter moon lighting.

Star trails around Polaris at Zabriskie Point, Death Valley. 50mins (30s stackings), full moon illumination. Something still seems missing from the foreground though.

Spotted a butt sticking out of the side of the road while driving one early morning. Pulled over, reversed a bit and snapped away at the elk.

Hiking at a national park and spot this stellar's jay sitting quietly in the branches above. I think it is tough photographing birds, I had a lot of failed attempts. Fortunately this time round, this bird was a very friendly subject willing to be photographed. Took a bunch of pictures. Looking through them in the pc, most of them just doesn't cut it though. I think the two pictures below are still okay but somehow they still looked cluttered with unnecessary details, which I have no control over...

A revisited photo on my archive.
One of the few lucky days for me when the sun shone through.
I remember once just as the sun was rising, I witnessed the most incredible play of red reflections on the Sail.
Of course I immediately set about setting up my camera. Turned it on...... and found that I had depleted it taking some test shots at Fullerton when walking to the setup point. I always carried a spare batt of course. But that in the camera.... doh! ... it was flat as well.
Anyway, this time it was ~ok~, but I've never witnessed that scene again.

Hmm... there is a film like color to the photos. PPed?

Do watch for focus.
You may also want to tweak contrast a little in PP.
Cheers

Punggol beach from last year.
Too bad no chance for fresh shots yet.
The weather and sunsets have been pretty nice these few days, but with my commitments and schedules I can only admire it from my window....
