96# Firework series

perfect exposure control and timing! (which i find it very hard to achieve for fireworks shooting) care to share your technique/settings? the exif info on flickr seems to be inaccurate... did you use a black card?

enjoy your UWA shots. keep them coming! i always envisage to get the LaSalle photo that you have but never have enough inertia to get down there to experiment. :)

Thanks bro seefei . See u in July outing )

I love the first picture! It has just the right exposure, it looks as if it's CGI. Great job!

Thanks for the kind comment

Hi hellfire, I actually do a blending mode in PP . It's like doing bracketing with 2-3 photo with different exposure :)

How should I put this to words .... Ok , 1st meter to the building for 1st photo . 2nd pic meter to the firework. The blend them together . 2 layer image :) . Mask out whatever u doesn't want . For full demo think got to wait for Shi fu denise (creampuff) to show u on his next lesson .

Me still waiting for his post process part 3... Wait till neck long long liao :p

Meter to fireworks? Considering the duration is pretty short, isn't that almost impossible to do (well, not really since you did it, but lol I wanna know)? Just curious.

i dont think need to meter the firework. just switch to bulb mode/ manual setting. open shutter when the firework start and close the shutter when firework finish. firework is bright enough for 2-4 sec of exposure. ( thats what i read from net )

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. I was confused by "meter to fireworks". lol

I think what simon meant was to do one exposure for the buildings (maybe 10-15s) & another for the fireworks (like you said 2-4s) & blend them in post.

Correct . That's what I do . Ard 3-4sec is the best . Anything more that that will overexpo

My bad . Actually when I mean meter to firework , I actually mean more of exposing to firework

You got it correctly . Thanks . That's what I mean :)
