Hi Janice,

Looking at the date of your posting here, it is already one week.

May I check whether you have found a photographer or not? If not, I am available to take this architectural shooting project. Please take a look at my online portfolio on http://fpd.carbonmade.com/projects/2735849 per request.

I charge you $2 per picture regardless whether it s interior or exterior shot. I can be reachable via email at brightolive@yahoo.com.sg if you are fine with my offer. Thank you.

Regards,
Selena

That's really a good deal @ $2 per photo. So if they had like different locations and each requiring only 1 photo, will the $2 be able to cover your transport cost from one point to the other? But of course should they require 3 or more shots per location, you can collect up to $8 per site. I'm just curious on your pricing terms and strategy. :)

Hey snowspeeder,

Thanks a lot for your kind advice.

I agree with your suggestion. If more buildings are within same/ nearby location, I charge $2. If only one building in different location, I will try to talk to them about additional transport coverage.

Just offering a view, you should offer a base minimum charge per location -- as the time spent at one location isn't just a few minutes along with a snap n go approach. Given the number of locations, perhaps going between $10 -20 per image would be a good start for entry level.

Hey snowspeeder,

Thanks again. I will keep it in mind for the next assignment in the future. :)

Anyway, I have just viewed your online works - very great shots!!

So amusing ... Posts like these in CS always makes me laugh ...

Photography is indeed looked down upon in Singapore, or maybe the photographer is a student with a bus pass with unlimited usage ...

At $2 per shot & 200 locations, its quite a good deal for a student though..

WOW :bigeyes::bigeyes:
$400 for the whole project...
that is much lesser than what a regular photographer would charge for 1 shot...
good deal...
Oh well, maybe this is a sign for professional photographers to start thinking about other alternatives to generate revenues... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

interesting, coz i had a similar offer of 50cents a pic to take photo. they weren't too fussy about my background, as long as I had a dslr. but at that rate, i wouldnt even bother taking out my iphone to snap pics for them.

$2/pic for Architectural and Interior shoots! holy moly..

Guess 'newer' generation Photographers nowadays more interested
to shoot for next to nothing or even for nothing.. No wonder the
'old' dogs have all starved to death and gone underground :bsmilie:

I think they just want to gain experiences and improve their skills.

Many 'newer' generation photographers are rich or their parent are rich so they don't need the money :D

They can afford to change their DSLR as soon as newer model appear in the market.

Hi TS,

I cannot help but wonder how long it would take you to shoot 200 Commercial Buildings at $2/pic?

This is the first time I heard of such ridiculous rates/charges for Photography :bsmilie:

Currrent low rates for this genre is already from around $100/building to well into the thousands/building, which is already Very much more than your quote of $2/pic/building and NOT any building BUT Commercial Buildings and btw, do you know what it takes to be an Architecture/Interior Photographer?

Like another poster who is an Architect and Architectural/Interior Photographer said "Good Luck to you"

From what I am seeing here is a misunderstanding between what it means to be a photographer and what it means to full time working photographer.

It is easy to scratch the passion to shoot purely for the visual satisfaction. It is more difficult to shoot as a living, at least if you need to acquire money to pay for mundane things like housing, rental, food, transport, ect and the required cash for new toys. There is no short cut to reach the stead state that allows you to be a full timer, shooting cheap or next to foc just for portfolio is one of the shortest ways to be a poor starving full timer - your "client" will never pay you more that what they paid when did their lowly paid job so forget them as stuff for the client list ditto for all the people they interact with. As a full timer you are a business owner who has to balance out how to charge so that you can survive at a certain comfort point at least if you plan to be a full timer for longer than how big you cash cushion is.

since there is no further updates from the TS, we can assume the assigment is over.

thread closed.
