photobookmart.com problems


Huh...joined the forum as new member and give such compliment....

By the way, in business nice the reputation is tarnished, it will take very long time to restore..one or two posts of compliments will not help much I think.

I'm not sure why there's so much unhappiness. Or maybe i'm just lucky. I've ordered two books from them. Both came one week after I paid online. Very happy with quality and service. Give them a chance. They seem to be the only online photobook service of decent quality. We should support them and help growth their business. If everyone avoids them, they'll close down and I'll have no where else to go to print my photobooks. I'm ready to send them my 3rd book this week. To avoid worrying about whether they'll deliver your books after collecting money, I send one book at a time.

I'm happy so far.
 

Yes, it's my first post on this website. But I took the trouble to sign up, give all my personal details etc just to post because I felt the need to let others know that my experience was not as such described by others here. Truth be told, I'm not one to bother writing comments online.

Just to be clear, I don't represent photobookmart, know of anyone at photobookmart or have any business dealings with them. I'm just a simple end-user looking for someone who can provide service to make a good photobook. In the past, I used fotohub's software. The people at fotohub are nice but the product just didn't match up to my expectations.

After getting my second book from photobookmart after one week, i felt a need to let others know that not all of us have had bad experience with them. I'm ready to send in my 3rd photobook. Let's see if they can keep up their good service and quality. We, people in general, tend to be very quick to post unhappiness online. Those who are happy with service won't bother to air their happiness and approval as quickly as those unhappy with the same service. Afterall, it's human nature to complain, bicker, grumble and be unhappy etc. I'm generally like that too, and should try to less so.

For all those who had poor experience with photobookmart and later a better experience, it would only be fair for you to update your experience with them. This would give a better perspective of the overall service.

I'll post my latest experience once I send in my 3rd photobook online.
 

well ? was it just a year end X'mas cum CNY backlog problem or is this still an issue ?

All you guys who were complaining of no reply and not getting your books .......... any feedback or conclusion to your problems with them ?

BAD expereience with them too.
Bought the groupon voucher from them but they just bring forward the expiry date at their side.
Wrote in to ask for exitension, but no reply at all...tried to contact them via phone, via facebook etc, no response.
Now even the extended expiry date going to end liao. i don't think i'll get any reply from them.
If you are ok with this kind of service, go ahead to order with them.
 

I just submitted my order yesterday. Tried the online tracking, but it says order doesnt exist.

Anyway, I am using Groupons voucher as well. The due date from groupon is 4 Apr, but somehow in photomart's system it's 3 Apr.
I asked for extension, and within a few hours of sending the email, I got replied from a guy called Jason saying that my voucher has been extended for 10 days.

Unfortunately, due to own connection problems, I couldn't submit by the due date, and was prompted 'voucher expired' when I submit.

Anyway, send email to ask for extension. no replies for a few days.
Then I send a reminder, immediately got replied saying that I should forward my request to another email address, which I did.
Immediately got response again, my voucher was extended for a few days. So last weekend managed to send my order.

So, I am now abit worried after reading the negative comments here. Will post here again when I get my book.

no complains... good quality and nicely done...

just find it funny that when people complained when they clearly missed out the expiry date stated so clearly on the deal itself...
 

extremely suspious with the overwhelming new members with less than 10 post..
 

I have ordered 1 book from this company before. Received the book in 2 weeks. Agree that it was a hassle when it came to uploading the book but perhaps it was my Internet speed.

Now, considering to print a 2nd but deciding between photo book Singapore, photo book mart and shutter fly.
In terms of quality, which is better?
 

Does anyone know if photo book Singapore and photo book mart use the same software? They look similar but photo book Singapore seems to have more details and options.
 

The quality was acceptable. But the customer service was not that ideal. Had a bad experience with them, and they are sure not getting my orders anymore.
 

Wished I saw this thread earlier. I had quite afew problems with them. Firstly, order not captured after I made payment. After delays and clarifications, they finally found my order. Then it was delivered to wrong address. When I finally get my book after much delay, there were a lot of printing errors. All the wording alignment were off, as compared to the proof generated prior sending for printing. Plus they called me to ask me to pay additional $36 for upgrade to better quality book. I will not recommend anyone to print with them.
 

I had bad experience with this company too. Quality was bad for e 2nd photobook. Apparently they only give their best for e 1st book - so as to attract more sales - after which they will disappear into thin air. No email replies from them. No return calls too. Their office address is fake too. Lesson learnt too late. Should have done more homework and read about reviews b4 engaging their service :(
 

Photobook Mart software cannot make it - lots of bugs. And the end product is disappointing too. Photobook Singapore is so much better - their software is more user-friendly.
 

Sent 2 different album for printing. Proof read different got back duplicate album! They ignore my support issues saying mistake at my side.
 

The service and application is the worst! I've downloaded the apps and follow all the instruction that i received. But the option :

"Choose ‘Premier Classic Medium Landscape Debossed Hardcover (11” x 8.5”)’"

doesn't exist at all. :angry:
 

I have personally printed 3 books from Photobookmark, 2 books were done last year and the 3rd book was just this year March.
The First book print quality was quite nicely done and so i proceed to do for my second book, in the end, they made some mistake on my front cover-wrap and i was ask to return the book and pay for the return shipping cost if i want the book to be redo, and i did.
This year i just did the third book with them and to my surprise the print quality came out was really bad, so i called up the CS and she told me that they have changed the printer and i have no choice but to accept the book.
Obviously the quality is printed by some normal colour copier machine with inconstant colour tint and overall flat images.

I am really disappointed with their print quality standard and will never use them again and will try to source for better print service provider.
 

I had really bad experience with the photobookmart quality and QC.
Printed 2 books, the print quality was sucks to the max. It's look like cheap printer quality which like stationary shop did.
The colors is very flat and noise everywhere, and the print line is everywhere on the page!
Not to mention on their QC, white bleed everywhere on the page and it is slanted.

I had sent a several emails to them, and stress them in their facebook page. They blocked me in their FB page, and the person in charge Jason Yong finally replied me in email,Told me that is just standard print quality, asked me to pay again to upgrade to their premium print to meet the printing requirement. (their price is almost same with others photobook company and other company don't have such bad quality as well).

And he can't explain the QC white bleed problem. he just said "it is very common to have imperfect edge and there are small and narrow." My white bleed is slated from 2cm to 0.5cm on the cover. This is the minor error he mentioned. He just not accept all their fault and stop reply my emails.


This is such a bad and irresponsible company. Photobookmart.com.my SUCKS!
