the negative space is for editors to put in the headlines, etc......some macros have hardly any space for words, hence they never make it to the cover shot. Composition depends also on what needs u have for the final print.

well said, haha. i think one of your turtles shots in your film days qualify for something like this. kng also have a vertical manta shot which became his dvd album cover very nice! waisj also has another nudi shot which he posted during our subforum prehistorical days which made a very nice photo for advertisement and front cover..
