Photo Sharing - Pentax/Ricoh Telok Ayer Street on 24 May 2013

Wow, FW, I believe it's been very long ago I saw so many photos from you in one thread! Great job, very nice series. Thank JK, FW, Denis for their sharing on street shots! It's also been long since I sat in for a lesson. I really should go seriously for a street shooting someday.

Should have joined you after lunch. Now I learnt something about Chinatown which I always go to and never see, thanks for the learning and sharing.

Wow! FW, you really set the bar high for us for those street/candid shots.

Really nice!

Wish I could have stayed longer, but I sort of over committed this week with another photo outing today (CapitalLand walkabout), so need to recover some 'family time' yesterday. :)

Thanks for the Street Talk the Art !

These shots all looking at your lens!
Did you ask? Or they were eager to be shot?
I find these types shots nice but tough to achieve, any further art not talked about?

First one. No permission.
I just focused on lady, and wait until she turned her head to face the camera.
There is always that short moment that the subject looks at the camera. (Look/wait for this)
Sometimes the subject notices the cam, other times their fov is there but focus is elsewhere .

The other 2, the ladies were super friendly.
We even took shots w/ them.
Just chat as you'd normally

A couple of mine, did sunrise before joining the walk for a bit, pity had to leave early.

All with GXR+A16 24-85mm F3.5-5.5. Lazy to pano, a single shot.

No shooting!

My favourite thus far!

I will take the colors off though so that the focus is on the message ... just my 2 cents, LP. ;-)

I seem to find similarity with the rendering style and color between the 85/1.9 and early version1 S.Takumar 135/2.5.
More 'conservative'.
On the late version of the S.Tak 135/2.5 which is similar to the K135/2.5, there is that characteristic deep contrast, color saturation and bold drawing style (esp. in areas of contrast), similar to later lenses I have like the M85/2, FA135 and and the 77ltd.
Not sure if its just coincidence or that Pentax choose this route/style for their lenses as time progressed.

Nice to meet all again for another Pentax outing.. It was always fun...
And many thanks to Dennis, JK, and FW for sharing streets photography concepts and techniques.
