Ya... common for pre ASPH lux...

More from d testing here

Sorry for barging in here...i thought only old nikkor lens has this glow on their lenses but seems like the lux also has this at f1.4...
bro if the focus is locked on in most of the pictures, its pretty soft....
but then going thru the thread, the xf lenses seems to be more capable of delivering something better here paired with the xe.

Better in terms of sharpness n IQ yes. It's not a good comparison. Cheers.

Why are we discussing leica lens on a Fujifilm thread? Simply wrong topic! Moderators, please do ur job!

D topic is "Photos Sharing from X-E1". Doesnt have to be using proprietary Fuji lenses per say. That's why Fuji came out with the M Mount adapter for Leica M mount lenses and it's entirely relevant to the topic. :bsmilie:

Thou i agree that each lens has its own characteristic....but of cos it must be of a certain characteristic that is appealing....somemore a lux is not a cheap lens to begin with...i would have expected more from it...
and yes, not talking abt IQ or sharpness...

how is focusing on the xe1 using m mount lenses? is it easier than the xpro1?

Takes a bit of practise as I was using NEX 7 previously and focus peaking does really help lotz. But after awhile, u do catch the sweet spot thru the EVF with magnification assist. It's not really that hard. If using zone focus, easier, just preset aperture and distance and dun really need to focus much during street shoot.

I dunno abt XP1 though, never really used it often to comment. Maybe bro pit14 can discuss more as he has loads of Leica glasses on his XP1. LOL

Wif Pres ASPH Lux, I personally think the point is to use it specially for certain portraiture shots. I have seen lotza really awesome dreamy glowy B&W shots by this lens from renowned photographers and they stand by it. U can google Kai's review on this glass and see some of the shots he has taken with it. If you are really looking for clinical modern sharp looks in your photos, dun bother to settle for this glass. The XF 35 is more than enough as it is really an awesome lens by standard.

I think the thread was moing towards discussion of ur character summilux lens...rather than anything useful on what xe1 can do or what x lens can do...

Maybe u can start on sharing yr photos from your X-E1 in this case. Will be appreciated if you could move us back into the topic it is intended for then. I shall refrain from discussing about my lenses if you feel it's inappropriate ya. Cheers. :)

You tried to feed the fella dried leaf?:)
