Photo Sharing from X-E1

Same with the latest 2 photos.

From Ted onwards I used film simulation using provia n did some tweaking on d custom settings. Maybe tatz y seemed soft.

On d sharpness part, I alwayz use 1/200 at least in good lights indoor n use A speed shuttle mode under sunlight. So should b able to counter handshake. Weird.

Same observations. All shots from my X-E1 with the 35mm prime at F1.4 wide open are all super sharp with portrait shots that can count the eyebrows.

Thoth's photos seems like not in focus.

Weird weird. I'm still thinking of how to do yr auto focus n manual focus test on d xf 35. Is there a reason to use iso 400-800?

What else need to b taken note of when testing? Do I need to send in both d cam n lens for calibration? Tks.

Using Provia will have difference in contrast and colour tones, but should not affect the sharpness and details. Your photos look like a bit out of focus.

User problem? Haha. Maybe I should take some tripod shots n c how. I'll also borrow pit14's copy n try too. Hmm. Weird. Tks for pointing out bro.

Try to reset your profile to dafault setting, put your camera on a tripod and shoot a portrait shot as a test (half body should be fine). It should be tack sharp (even at F1.4 which I kept it there almost all shots). You can count the eye lashes....

Noted. Will test it out over d weekends. Tks.

Found these 2 photos before I did custom settings with the original XF 35mm lens. Seems contrast and sharpness are intact... Hmm

Looks out-of-focus again...

But then again, if you like it and find it sharp enough for your purpose, you are a happy man!

Interesting. Actually downloaded jpegs look sharp on my iPad but once uploaded to photobucket website n share here. Seems suffer resolution downgrading. Hmm. I'll send in for calibration anyway. Tks bro.

Just returned from Taipei's holiday trip, pleased with my XE-1 and the 35mm f1.4. Light, good low light performance and compact, although I bought my 5D2 for landscape and telephoto.
XE-1 was for street photography and carry light when shopping. Some photo for sharing.

Yeah. I just shot some test shot using hand held iso 400 @ wide open. I can count d eye lashes & eye brow hairs n see pores on d subject face when zoomed in on my LCD on d x-e1. It was a half body shot so gotta full zoom in.

Later I'll try to upload to Flickr n try. Tks. BTW, I din resize in photobucket. I just dunno wif all d uploading to my iPad directly from my sd card & then from iPad wirelessly to photobucket affects d IQ or sharpness in any ways? Hmm

yeah bro if you want to post 1024 or 800x600 do the conversion using LR when you develop it then upload it to photobucket... also FB if you upload full res it will degrade the IQ so much its not worth it to post anymore :-(

Btw @Thoth i was doing some reading online and its seems that other users of xpro1/xe1 find that their Leica lenses are soft on fuji cams while its plenty sharp on M bodies. They concluded that not all M-mount lenses work well with fuji.

Yeah. If d Leica M lens is not d ASPH version or APO version, highly likely it will b soft on X systems. I'm using my Pre ASPH Lux 35 just for this purpose to render more classic soft, glowy & dreamy jpegs OOC as I dun PP anymore on all my photos nowsaday. For sharp & contrasty photos, there r alwayz XF lenses at my dispense. Cheers.
