Petition to KMSC

Thanks for all the replies, be it good or bad. Have to hear everyone's opinion.

Desmond, The petition is just to show that we are not happy with their operating hours, however we can suggest to them on how to improve but we can't demand. Its still up to them (KMSC).

I'll wait until there're more supporters then I'll email to KM regarding the petition. :)

Not only the working hours, I think the turn around time for service also need to improve. I have a few friends who send their camera with very minor faults, but the camera just sits at the service canter for 14 days before anything was done. If I am not wrong most of the service takes about 3 weeks. Correct me if I am wrong.:embrass:

depends on the job list and the technician's workload and mood? :dunno:

I second this suggestion. I work mon-fri until 6. How on earth am I able to send my camera in?

Service wise this is my experience. Change of 7Hi CCD took me 4wks. Was awaiting replacement ccd to be shipped from Japan.

Calibration of 7D and lens. Send in on mon afternoon, received it on friday afternoon same week. Told them I require the camera over the weekend for a shoot and please please expediate. Lucky they can make it. Phew!

Signed already. 10 signatures now. Seriously, KM already lags behind CnN in market share. How to appeal to more people when even aftersales service is not customer oriented? :(
 

i reccomend at least for the stuff that is already repaired. can be posted to our addres. western digital hard disks do that. WD even accepts posted in faulty hard disks. So we post our problem items after a web based RMA receipt. It costs $2.50 -5 for postage, but at least they post back to u free. i think its quite a good system. taxi/bus fare already that much... and much more convenient.

This petition is for extension of operating hour, not employee working hour.

There are ways to achieve better customer service than just stretching employee working hour.

Not everyone has a flexible working environment like you, and perhaps have better use of annual leave than just to send camera for servicing. Whatever, we are just voicing our opinion, its up to KM to decide whether they want to provide a better service or not.

don't forget the insurance.. kekeke.

May be this is a better idea hor. Just like those big countries.. If within warranty period, KM should absorb the transportation cost, else, charge it to customer lor.
 

Hi Drudkh, good job. I was writting a thread for the same reason, abandon halfway as my boss called me

My 7D BFed so I called them to and said I'll try to reach before 6pm,
but I finish work 5.30pm and it's peak hour so may reach 10 to 15mins late.
They said they cannot wait and when I frustrated he said, he can only wait 5 mins.
Nearly wanted to say... wha they xxxx, I spend thousands on your poorly QCed product and is that how you support your customers :angry:

I told him another camera company is open until 9pm, he said it's just another company lor,
we close at 6pm. I felt like I wanna throw away my 7D :bheart:

Finally took 1/2 day leave to send the camera to Funan, they
were busy moving out. The person in-charge said they need 2 weeks :o to fix
the BF as they are moving out. Called after 2 weeks, still not ready yet, need 1 more
week. :angry: I called the manager and told him I need it immediately :flame: . The next day a girl called me and said my 7D is ready for collection

When I was the service ctr, I asked the recep girl, whether I can tryout some of those lenses in thier display. She said I can go to shop to try out. Which shop in sg keep
stock of these lenses ?

Oly which just entered DSLR market with a handfull lenses organises seminars, classes and also outings for thier users to try out thier lenses. Nxxxx seems also organising such outings
and let thier users try out all thier big arsenals. Why cant KM do thier

any petition i am in, and i hope they put more 'knowledgable' ppl on the front desk, and also a system whereby any followups should be err... follow up, cos they seem to always neglect me... dunno y...

hmm i work on sundays as well... in fact, i work 7 days a week... serious... and i am hoping my workers do that as well...

anyway, i'm not asking all the workers to work everyday, but if a management is properly managed, they can have better allocation of staffs for weekend. Maybe their cost will go up, but think of the return customers and satisfied customers, it serves a long way.

Mayb you should look at the healthcare or maybe sales industries, u ask them about working on sundays, maybe you may get some enlightenment... and perhaps if 1 day 'touchwood' you go to hospital, and its a sunday, then the nurse or doctor give u a 'sunday' look... how would you feel?
 

I guess KM does not make much money from cameras in Singapore compared to their office machines so they dont put much effort into camera aftersales.
 

im holding a desk bound jobby but i do work on weekends, including Sunday whenever my co has special launches. there was a time when i worked straight for a mth :bsmilie:

basically my co pays me an extra sum, on top of the normal monthly salary that i'm getting. and i do have colleagues who are reluctant to work but you know, it all boils down to individual's mindset against co's goals in the long term. think they (KMSC) could have flexible working hours. i dont see why not ? :) afterall, long gone the days for the 44 hr thingie lah..

well, back to my experience on KMSC, it was quite nice...

i sent it my 7D for BF issue, the girl there helped me to expedite it and i get it back in 1 week's time, they're friendly and helpful.

on top of that, they also helped me to repair my "peeling-off" rubber at the camera back. i think that's quite nice, as i didn't ask about about that...

hmm, but like the majorities here, it would be good to extend the opening hours, if not extending on weekday, at least, open half a day on saturday, just like previously in funan.
