haha i think some of you guys are missing the point here.
even if the 'victim' is photogenic or 'chio' .. it doesn't give permission to the 'pervert' to harass her. the act can't simply just be dismissed or ignored just because the victim 'deserves' to be snapped :bsmilie:

Though the 'pervert' do not have permission and jiujiu is a 'victim', it is not an offence to shoot strangers in the public. We can also interpret the 'pervert' as an 'admirer' and jiujiu as a 'beauty'. We can't deny the fact that jiujiu is unhappy but at the same time, we can't catch the 'pervert' or prevent future perverts from striking again. We just have to wait till jiujiu no longer appeals, and the whole harassment affair will just stop. Don't think I make sense.......just providing some entertainment tonight.

talking abt taking pictures with hp... i always tell my friends who wants to take picture of me with their hp that it is ok to do it, but must have fair exchange, they can take a pic of me with their hp and i will take one of them with my 20D and we can both print it out, theirs in 2R mine in A2

I find the responses on this thread so hypocritical. So some guy shoots a picture with hp and he's a pervert while hundreds of clubsnap members roam around Singapore with their telephoto lenses all weekend long doing street photography, and god knows what they're shooting with those long lenses, and they're photographers? Give me a break.

ckuang - i believe its a different issue that CSer walk around with telephoto lens and take pics compared to jiujiu's case, yes, its correct that taking photos in public is legal, but INVASION of privacy is NOT...
unless you are saying a CSer is using a 70-200 lens right up in the person face and snap... then that is really something... usually photog are more discreet when taking streets, not to this case where that person just went to her face and take pic lo~

Ahh, and that is the irony here because under privacy laws..or pseudo privacy laws we have here, it is legal to shoot a picture in public of a person in public as long as a person is found not to have gone to unreasonable lengths to acquire that picture. Know what that means? It means that the cell phone guy is actually legal, the cell phone camera being easily accessible, while a judge may deem shooting a person in public with a telephoto lens, which is not as easily accessible, as having gone to unreasonable lengths.
Second while CSers shoot discreetly, while the "pervert" does not, who is to say one is a pervert and the other is not? We have no idea the intentions of the CSer nor the "pervert." In fact, i would be more wary of the person shooting descreetly with a telephoto lens from behind some corner than a handphone camera in my face. I think it's hypocritical because people here seem to have that mindset that just because they have fancy gear makes them a photographer and legit in whatever they shoot while someone with no gear makes them a pervert. I think Robert Capa would probably say the guy with the hp camera is probably a better photographer than the one hiding behind a long lens.
