Pentaxians Feb 2011 outing - Photo Contest: Life In Our City

I had to submit something. If there is no support, how to have the ball rolling and have another one next year. But this has been very stressful. Can't think up of anything. Worse, family duties kept me at home

I got lucky for Saturday. My wife promised to bring my son out to Town to see the Disney Cars prop on display at my office building. Afterwhich we travelled around town. I must admit getting ideas for a suitable photo was hard.
I think out of the like 50 shots I took that day, only 2 were suitable.

Unfortunately, I wasn't in town that day so can't participate.

I was thinking about what Creampuff said, and really thought about it when I was on my way home from work ...

Many possibilities mah ... Shoot wayang pple painting their faces, shoot chinese puppet show, shoot getai, shoot CC celebrations, shoot ah nay flipping roti prata, shoot ppl queuing to buy Toto and 4D, shoot lion dance performance, shoot auntie praying and all the rest of the crowd in the temple jostle for space in a crowded temple.

I just know how to talk and talk, when execute, all fail ... :bsmilie:

I really had '0' idea.

I caught a spider in the morning as 'back-up' if I could not think up of anything by the end of the day
Only managed to come up with a rough idea by 5pm.
Then had to shoot it only at 8.30pm.
If fail, then that was it.

BTW, I screwed up the spider 'back-up'. Thought it would be a good idea to beat him into submission by cooling him down a bit in the freezer........ bad.idea...... (sorry spider.. ) :embrass:

If flowerpot says his shots no good, I don't dare show mine. His "lousy" shots are mostly better than my "great" shots. In anycase, I tried some with my DA40 but all can't make it. So I join Fengwei to enjoy the views instead. Good luck to all you guys and gals..Make Pentax proud! :lovegrin:

realised that my camera calender was set wrongly. would have screwed up my exif file.

Wow nice.. By the way, did you use AF-S or AF-C for your soccer game shots?

A mix of both.
Was trying to get a feel of AF-C. Although it made AF track faster when there's fluid action, it tends to focus on the wrong subject (about 2 out of 5 times).
I mostly stuck with AF-S. But that made AF tracking slower and really have to focus on the action correctly otherwise I always back-focus on the background instead of the action.

I also want to contribute my noob one but somehow when I checked photo exif it turn out to be 27th Feb though it was taken on 26th. Too bad .
