Thanks for the headsup. Let's do it then.

I'd suggest to have this shootout on Sat 19th of Dec.

Morning: macro and plants at Botanic Garden
Afternoon: street around little india
Evening: X'mas lights at Orchard or cityarea

how late you all going to stay for this one? :bsmilie:

Haha, I myself, joined the rebellion by accident after I exchanged my Panny G1 for a Pentax K-x without any prior experience handling pentax. Best accident that ever happened to me.

Ah... so you are the lucky one who swapped the G1 with the other guy.

Congrats man and welcome. Now you can play with manual lenses too :)

Pentaxian or Nikonian all end with "ian"..:bsmilie:all are welcome, but maybe bad
for me i might be away during that period of time.

Nik34, chances are I cannot go as well. Due to a tight deadline to hand in a assignment.

Do you need me to forward payment for the T-shirt first. Pai-seh, as not sure when will meet you next. Let me know what works best for you.

You didn't go to the visitor center that side to eat?

so ex... i rather go hungry... :bsmilie:

yeah...im so excited... i can learn from all the all the experts here... :D

so ex...walk a bit more lor, there is a nice place for makan outside there...reasonable price.

That's right can learn from all the expert here...:D

Can't we do the street shooting on Orchard Rd instead?
No.1 let the consumer society know that Pentax exists and has cool colored Kx.
No.2 build up everyone's guts instead of us preying on our friends from India :)

night shoot at Orchard as well.

will the pentax uniform be mistaken for a walking santa along orchard road?;p

i want to join!! =D

bought my k-x during my exams.. but couldnt go for the Nov outing cos it was right smack in the middle of my exams =(

i want to see pinholecam in person - the one who introduced me to the k-x when i had settled on a D3000 after much much painstaking research. :D:bsmilie::bsmilie:

yeah! my first outing! so excited! after all these 2 years being inactive due to NS...finally i'm free to go...

Was thinking of breaking up the group for afternoon session if it gets too big. (30+) Too big a group is unwieldy for certain places.

Botanic Gardens can accommodate 30+ easily, but for street, 10 max, even if scattered. Can divide to Chinatown, Little India, Orchard, etc. Meet-up again for sunset/ light-up later on. (Can break into Marina Bay/ Orchard group as well)

Since some of us can't make it on the 19th, how about a show of hands of who can attend on 12th alternatively?

I can't do both that's for sure. My current situation, even one outing day is already luxury...

But I still think it's better we only have one outing each month. If can't make it on that day, that's okay. Just go out and shoot on your own anytime you like. If wanna form a small group, that'd be great too, but better make it as another unofficial event :)

Don't worry about the street, I'm sure we can find a way to handle that. We never really stuck together when we did street photography before anyway.

As to sunset, let's see how the weather turns out on that day. We can either skip or add it into our schedule.

The most import thing is: to have fun together w/ friends and enjoy taking photos :)

You know the other guy? He regretted buying the k-x just one day after. Wanted something smaller and more compact. The last I heard from him, he seems pretty happy with the G1 now.

Can have prata if we meet along Evans Road.

Oh yes, he was explaining his experience with the k-x. About how loud the mirror slapping was, and irritating the heck out of him.

Guess, both of you are happy so no worries :bsmilie:

i always ask for marathon... but so long never happen...anyway i want to shoot film...

SBG canteen under renovation the last time i went... i go without food the whole morning... :( dunno whats the status now....

Went to SBG this morning and went to take a quick look. It says reopen early Dec.

I'm not sure about how conducive orchard rd may be as it gets closer to x'mas. I just came from there and am quite "out-of-breath" already, the crowd is...

Just finished another full marathon this morning, not a photo marathon of course. I'm really tired, but still, it's another great experience:

Hope our photo marathon will be as rewarding as this one :)

Congrats Fengwei! My greatest distance was only the half marathon and that was in my prime NS time. Now i'm having trouble to do a 2.4km in time.:bsmilie:
