cause from what I understand III is only small tweak over the II mainly with wireless trigger, I decided I dun need it so I just save that money and buy this instead.

(buy liao dun regret, play with the flash first ;p)

It's a pretty decent flash. Can get a pair of wireless triggers for ~$30 on taobao if you want to try off-camera flash. But recently I've realised that the flash doesn't fit as snugly as it should on the hotshoe, so during events like the recent FAM there were instances where the flash didn't fire when I switched quickly from portrait to landscape orientations with the flash mounted (resulting in quite a few wasted shots). But that could just be my copy. :dunno: Other than that, it's a very value for money flash. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Enjoy it!

Its a big enough diff if you are planning to go further with your strobing with more than one flash in the future.
The III is supposed to offer wireless power control with a new control module that is yet to be out afaik.

Yea.. I'm considering but have to see my budget planning. Haha! Besides, it works with legacy flashes so long as it has at least 2 manual power settings, can calibrate..

Edit: Properly understood your question.

With that, yes, 2 pieces to start off. 1 for flash, 1 for hot shoe.

Or maybe 1 flash, which already has a built-in transceiver and an additional cactus v6 trigger.

Read somewhere that it supports all kinds of hotshoe right? as in one on camera the other on any kinds of flash is it? Do pm me if you gonna get one
