I thought not? IIRC you must mail in the warranty card to Pentax Japan or USA to get international warranty.

Which malaysian shop? If it is at JB, maybe not that bad, but if it is at KL or something, then you must consider shipping etc etc:angry:

I'm not buying it, going to try it out this week though. I'll post some comparison photos against the Sigma 17-70mm.

I was at OP just now and saw the lens. Quite tempted to buy it but must control to be sure that is what I want....It cost 3 times the cost of the kit lens but Feng wei has indicated this is a very good lens , hence the price.

for those who are interested at the Sigma 17-70 lens, I would suggest you to go to the SLS 5th level. There is a "newly" (to me) opened camera shop run by some Chinese people. I occasionally went inside the shop last Thursday, and found the lens there. I asked about the price, and was quoted SGD 530 with GST. But at that time, without comaprison, I did not notice that the quoted price is really cheap...

So you guys who tempt to buy this lens can go there and find out yourself, but do keep in mind that make sure the lens do comes with warranty.

btw, they also have the Sigma 18-50 F2.8 in stock.

I think that's OP (Orient Photo). It's 6th floor. They will only start collecting GST after March Sigma lens comes with Int warranty.

ultra II 2gb sd is a bit expensive. You could find a cheaper one in SLS.

Ain too sure if Tokina have other better range like what Hoya have (normal, Pro etc etc) but i just got one Tokina CPL for $25 brand new.
Worst of all, only to realize i have a CPL at home that fits and now selling it off without even using it... :bsmilie: oh well...

Just realized that the filter size is different from mine thus the difference in pricing for CPL. False alarm... Apologies...

It's quite disappointing to know that Orient Photo, an overseas setup shop has more Pentax stuff that we can order compared to CP, AP, etc. I was quoted SG$1450 for the Sigma 50-500mm for Pentax mount! Good price...

Try looking around for the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 in local stores for Pentax mount, you won't be able to find it.
