By the way, for your B&W photos, it's straight from the cam?
Hi contrast or normal B&W mode?

B&W mode and push up the contrast. I like high contrast B&W but I find it too much noise.

Some people shots mostly with the 06 zoom

The power of your Selfie monopod!!! hehe...

It's very useful also for round the corner shots, low angle upwards shots, if you couple with Flu card , you can view frame and take more sure shots on iPad or iPhone instead of guess n hope for the best....

Quite a chicken gory to start an outing..but really nice sights.

Nice shots from everyone, seems like I missed a great photo trip :(

But I did have some fun at home w bunch of kids during my daughter's BD party :)

Salahuddin Bakery in Johor Bahru Old Town

I have heard of there being an old bakery here from a colleague.
My thoughts was of those old hainanese bakery that was common here in the past.
But when I walked to the entrance of the shop this ran through my head.

This is on of thee oldest bakeries in JB (there is another one which is Chinese, btw).
The shop still uses an old wood fired oven that has been in the shop since 1937.

Ok.. some sweet tasting goodies (not chicken flavored )

The old oven, still warm from the days baking

I used the Pentax Q7 for the outing.
Did not want to be burdened by gear.
Also wanted to keep things simple camera wise, concentrate more on the shot than be weighed down by the over considerations that can sometimes happen with bigger cameras (ie. what DOF, what lens, what f-stop, ISO and noise, etc)
To me, it brought back a joy of simplicity in photography which sometimes can be messed up with arguments over gear.
