My only hope is that there won't be any teething problems as a result of rushing to meet global distribution. Problems like what happened to the EOS-1D Mark III. Know of someone who bought the Nikon D300 when it was first arrived to find that it had issues with the AF.
All the issues and bugs need to be ironed out.

So I will wait till... June, and until there is a RAW plug-in for Adobe CS3. Don't want to get early adopter kind of luck like I had with my previous D70 cameras. :thumbsd: :bsmilie:

wait no more... :D

The K20D official brochure is available in Germany now:

http://www.pentax.de/downloads/photo/de/Pentax K20D/SLR_Catalogue_K20D_GER.pdf

Some guy at DPR did a quick translation and comparison w/ K10D:

Changes from predecessor (K10D)
• 14,6 Megapixel (effective)
• 2,7’’ screen with a resolution of 230.000 Dots
• Live View
• Sensitivity ISO 100 to ISO 6400
• Custom Image with 4 colour profiles
• 36 programmable custom functions
• Flash PC-sync connector for studio flash
• Picture sequence in Burst-Mode with 20 pictures per second (1.6MP JPEG)
• Finer Graduations/Levels (not sure what they mean by Abstufungen) in JPEG
• White balance bracketing

From the text, further differences/news:
New dust warner, showing a shot of the sensor with dust spots on the screen.
Better dynamic range (one stop more).
Recommended kit price with new 18-55 II: 1299 Euros

EDIT! New stuff from catalogue pdf
1. 35mm MAcro goes to 1:1
2. RAW button switches between RAW, RAW+JPEG, only JPEG and becomes more configurable
3. integrated intervall timer! (up to 99 shots, 1s to 24h apart)
4. user can define file names!
5. TFT screen can be colour-adjusted!
6. digital preview now allows saving of the previewed shot - even with adjusted WB!
7. Bracketing does 3 or 5 shots (only 3 on K10D)
8. The new long lenses will be available at the same time as the K20D, maybe even the 35mm limited

yum yum! ;)
What do you think of the new simulated rubber feel? That's a deviation from the older range.
and....if only they included a button for quick WB switching...its very cumbersome to always forget to switch back when the lighting changes...

There are 35 custom settings, I'm sure you can set one of those for quick switching WB ;)

1299 usd = 1870 sgd
800 usd = 1170 sgd

thereabouts, using about current 1.44 sgd to 1 usd

cost of k200d still reasonably low

I will g ofor k20D by sept.

Question K10d Grip will work on k20d right?

You wicked lah! Camera already in my sights, must just be patient and don't pull the trigger so soon...

Yeah the specifications of the K20D trounces the competition in my book, though the one thing I thought they could have improved upon was increasing the fps even higher. On the looks side, I actually prefer the older Pentax typeface used on the logo. But these are very minor quibbles. The image quality definitely makes this camera a winner.

The new 300mm and the 35mm Macro are so tempting...

I hope the number of people switching to Pentax will increase and that newbies will expand their options in considering Pentax as their first choice.
