K10D has a lot better Shake Reduction
K10D has alot better viewfinder
K10D has alot faster AF speed
K10D has alot bigger buffer
K10D is alot more responsive
K10D is alot better built w/ weather sealing
K10D uses Lion battery which is alot more reliable
.... ...
K10D has so many other features that K100D doesn't have, and it's just $300 more than K100D. You'd be insane if you choose K100D over K10D if buy new :)
.... ...

I've gone through the detour (Ds->K10D->K100D->K10D), hope you won't make the same mistake.

Those are the features that I'd like.
I almost went insane when the price of the K10D was announced. Was expecting it to be WAY more expensive.

I saw your PM, rud. Trouble is, I am definitely not getting it so soon, perhaps May. So maybe in the meantime you might want to ask other people.

Fengwei will make a very good salesman. =D

southernoise, can post some photos of the dog in your avatar? Really cute!

We, the insane group of K100D loyalists, have lost a member

I'm still with K100D for its power source simplicity... simple AA alkaline batteries will work when rechargeable ones have gone dead while out in a place with no power mains :)

Alvin, I think it's better to use the C2R3 Lithium batteries instead of the typical AA ones, or the rechargable ones. Or at least get the Lithium AAs.

K100D been really a good dSLR and has done its job for the past 8 Months or so for me.

Here's another example, taken with K10D + 50-200mm (at 200mm), 1x 200watts strobe (3/4 power) & tripod. Bright does seems to make it sharper.

ISO 100, 1/180s, f9

I read somewhere on dpreview that you should set the setting to bright and increase sharpness to +2 on K10D for a "better" jpg (better is a subjective term here).

Someone warned me that bright may blown the highlights. That's why I did the 2nd test. ;)

Hi Feng wei
So you returned back to K10D? ....Too used to the enhanced features in the K10D, right?;)

Oh yeah, had the K100D for about two weeks, but only used once really. I guess once you have a better featured cam, it's really hard to go w/ a lower spec one ;)

actually, i had a confession to make :bsmilie:

before picking up your k100d, i actually had the luxury to handle my cousin's K10D and k100d in KL (yes, he had both cams).........i was a dslr noobie then.....but somehow, i found the handling of k100d is much more comfortable to my hand, in terms of grip, weight and size.......i can compromise some of the more advance features in k10d as i know, k10d is not a cam that i will lug around given its heavier and bigger size.......so, that's why i went for ur k100d despite the avilability of the k10d from red sun for a marginally higher price....:bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

in any case, the k100d meets my needs for now and i know it will be able to serve me for at least another good 2 years before i graduate to another higher graded cam.....by then, who know what pentax can come out with....

so, the conclusion is, buy what u really need for the foreseeable short term, not what would be the best cam with best feature....ever since digital age has crept into the camera world, the tecnology just keep advancing and the price is going toward another direction....

ps: just like my good fren who got himself a canon 400d...despite all the hype about its small grip by reviewer and all over th forums....but he found it to be perfect grip to his small hand after testing out more than 6 dslr of diferent brands.....

I agree w/ you on this one. It's better to go to a store and hold the camera, and see which one feels the best in your hands. All dSLR cameras are capable of capturing great photos, it's the one behind the camera who makes the photos :)
