yap, i'm using kit lens and not planning to get extra lens also.
therefore trying to figure out the best way to adjust the brightness of the photo.
nv tried going out to take yet. coz he still only 7weeks, and gg out is already FBO.

Then you need to learn to increase your ISO until you get 1/50 or 1/60. Aperture cannot control due to kit lens.
If you have the extra cash, go for a lens with constant F2.8 aperture. These lenses are better for indoor. I used to use a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 and it produced wonderful indoor shots. Now I use the DA*16-50mm f2.8. See my signature for the other lenses that I use.
The other thing to note is your WB. Adjust until you are satisfied and you will be able to capture brighter pics. You can change your setting to Bright, Vibrant, etc too . . .
