Pentax K-x help thread

... no you can't get a coloured k-x with dual kit lens :nono: Didnt you read my post ?

oops... sorry bro... haiz looks like got to get a separate lens then... thank you...

no never. erm.. better bring to emjay get them take a look!

Hi guys,
I was wondering what went wrong wif my k-x. Usually the autofocus upon half click would hear a beep after focusing and depress further to snap right? My camera seems to be zonky cuz i dont hear the beep anymore and it just keeps snapping even at half click. Can't use the auto focus properly now. I dont think i re adjusted anything!! Anyone facing similar problems?

Did u turn on manual focus accidently ?

Maybe u should try to reset ur camera to default setting? Hopefully, its works. If it doesn't, think u have to bring it down to Emjay.

If you manual focus ar,even at half click also won't trigger the shutter. So it can't be accidentely turn to manual focus:)

Only open on weekdays till 6pm

Hmm, I thought in the customize function, there is this selection of camera will click shutter once in focus even u half press?

It wouldn't be god... but indoor light on with ISO3200 is not bad...

guys....newbie here.....how do u guys shoot night pictures handheld? i;m working without the flash. ISO at 12800 is too grainy....any recommended mode or method to get better shots?

LOL, but imho that is really not recommended for portraits and in fact most picture taking if you want the best quality. You'd certainly want to shoot at lower ISO and find/create the optimal shooting conditions. Find a place that is brighter; turn on the lights; use flash.
Shoot at high ISO if there is little choice.
High ISO capability is not a cure all, whatever brand/model higher ISO above 800 will always be significantly less detailed.

Assuming you are shooting night landscape where the scene doesn't change very much to cause motion blur (or intending motion blur to be part of the scene), you can switch to Sensitivity Priority and select the highest ISO with a noise level that you are comfortable with. Take note of the shutter speed that the K-x selects, then hold as steady as possible with whatever support you can get when you take your shot (if you've gone through live firing training in NS before, you use the same principles).

okie.....got it. thanks!!! :D

tat's a good baseline for me to start shooting them properly

hey guys, usually how much sharpening do u all use when using different modes (eg. landscape, etc )?
the pix i get from default is not as sharp as i wanted. usually i have to process it using iphoto.
after i increased the sharpness in the different modes then i can get what i wanted.
is it also due to other factors like focal length? i'm using the kit 18-55mm but im on 55mm most of the times using P mode mounted on tripod.

i got prob too, dunno why during night shots or even in Auto mode, sometimes the shutter speed sooo slow! its like press-2seconds later then snap! ahh i feel so noob!
