i use to go for kingston product a lot because they give long wty compare to others and amount the cheapest last time...but after i send in a micro SD card and a 512mb thumbdrive to convergent, i notice that flash memory product cannot relay on kingston anymore... the micro SD i get back after 2 weeks of "no stock".... but my 512MB thumbdrive is no news after years...:dunno:

the 512mb Thumbdrive is within wty... but they say no stock.... after month and i go down... they say really no stock and ask me do i mind if give me a card reader + 512MB micro SD card... i am fine with it... but NO STOCK also...;(

from then, no more kingston flash for me... to me flash is like harddisk to me... one spoilt mean data lost... i don't really like to risk it... so far i am using sandisk product for years... have not vist the CS yet....:bsmilie:

just bought a sandisk extreme 8gb on last tue...

I will not buy Kingston for my next SD card, the 8GB SDHC has been acting up once in a while on my K20D, first frame corrupted or blank. See when it kaputs... Then it's on to Sandisk!

if it start to have corrupted sector, it will keep coming back even after a format and look alright... better go exchange if it had corrupted 2 time or above before wty end!...

sometimes it's just luck.

i have been lucky, i have a transcend 2gb 150x that i bought with k100d, working fine....

sandisk extreme III 4gb with k20d also fine..... random toshiba 4gb for p&s also fine......

only problem is the metallic part, the plastic dividers keep coming off for me, for the transcend and the sandisk.... doesn't seem to affect anything, so who cares. :bsmilie::bsmilie:

really??? they give lifetime on SD card also?
lifetime wty always on the ram product in the past...
but it will still not win me over.... lost of data is no a CS can recover...:bsmilie:

I, too, have never had any negative experience with Kingston SDHC cards ever. Have been using the Kingston brand for god only knows how many years both in my cameras (Kingston SDHC cards) and in my computers (Kingston RAM chips).

In fact, I generally go out of my way and choose Kingston over other brands because they have always proven to be great value for money till now... capacity vs. speed vs. cost when compared to other reputed brands. I do use other brands like SanDisk, Toshiba, Transcend, etc. too... but the number of Kingston memory products with me at the moment outnumbers the other brands by quite a margin!

Saddened to read that a few individuals here are affected by this problem. I would switch brands in a second if I was affected like this personally.

Think this Kingston SDHC is a batch related problem. (I also have a very old Kingston card from my previous camera without any problems at all)
As mentioned before, it appeared to come from a particular shop and also the same timeframe.
If affected batch of SD cards are not removed or screened it will remain in the market until they are all disposed of or sold.

yesh. no need receipt also. they just need to verify that it not a fake copy.
lifetime warranty means repairs until cannot repair according to their forum.

Actually I still got a 256M and 512M Kingston SD cards with me. After so many yrs ... it's still working fine . The 8G SDHC is the 1st time I have problem with kingston too :)

Curse of the Kingston SDHC...

Just got memory card error from my 2 wks old Kingston 16gd SDHC.
It's make in Taiwan.

Will be going down to Convergent for warranty claim later... SIAN!

Maybe all of you with Kingston SDHC card problems should post your card serial no./batch no. so can compare whether is it from a particular batch that we can avoid. That is, if you still have the problem card with you.
