Pentax K-X for fast moving kids?

Read some reviews. When using this eyecup, the corners of the screen will be rounded and the exif info at the bottom will not be visible. Is it true?

If you wear glasses like me... maybe... but I can still see the exif data.
Rounded ? er... neber notice.
It does help in MF.... I would recommend it.

TS... get a FA 50mm 1.4 (if got $) or Pentax-A 50mm f2 (if no $)... you will be nicely suprise by the bokeh.

seems like inevitable... matter of time... hole in pocket...

its not THAT expensive... just plan out what you need and buy them when you have the cash.

after buying, test it out to see if it suits you. If you don't like it / don't use it often, sell it and move on to something else. :D

given limited resources, i don't think there are that many "hardcore" hobbyists who will buy and keep everything.

There is this saying "Cameras don't take photos, people do."
Think about it for a moment. You want to create effective photos, you got to master the craft.
If you wanna shoot great kid photos, the place to start is your technique, not your camera. Most photographers starting out think getting such and such camera and with a lens with a large maximum aperture or a wide zoom range is gonna automatically result in great photos. Getting the right gear can help but only up to a point. The best shots of kids come about because the photographer can visualize the shot and know how to execute it, and do it consistently.

Instead of discussing the merits of whether lens A vs lens B is better at taking photos of kids, you would be better off spending your time to research how photographers who shoot kids for a living go about doing it. Know their tips and techniques on how to engage children to get the best out of them (eg. give them a toy/prop to keep them preoccupied).

People who ask "what's the best lens for shooting kids" or "what's the the best camera for shooting kids" are asking the wrong question. That lens or camera alone can't help if you don't know how to go about using it.

Here's a shot of a kid speeding on a bike. That kid was zipping by pretty fast. The shot was taken at 1/40 sec at f/8 at ISO 100. Now just about any DSLR can achieve this exposure combination... Camera was the K20D with FA 77mm.

Try google.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panning_(camera)
have a look at this to have an understanding of it.

TV mode is shutter speed mode, can upload your picture to see? Hard to guess like this woh with no other information.

Can remember the shutter speed??? if you are shutter is set very fast like eg. 1/3200, and the light source is not bright enough. you will see all black.....

1/1000 shutter should be ok under bright outdoor. Ur apenture size also have effect on it. If you are using kit lens, at 18mm its widest is 3.5 i think. If you are using at 55mm, its widest is 5.6. (just base on estimation, cant rem their specs)
Anyway, do you need to use such high shutter speed? Care sharing what are you trying to shoot? I normally felt that shutter speed of 1/400 is fast enough.

Tml got outing ah.. at AMK.. Far? http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736700
There's people from West side also ah.. ;p
Erm.. i thought that's a limit when you use flash, which is max 1/180? Am i wrong? Anyone knows about? If i'm right, then you are taking water droplet at 1/180 and not at 1/1000.
Well, you still can lower down your shutter speeds to 160 to 320 for your kids shot, think it's still fast enough.
