The problem is that its not really easy to get a hand's-on on pentax cameras. But you should be able to see more ocmprehensive online reviews before you make your choice. <:
See Amazon Japan .. abt 900 SGD for body alone. Might be cheaper if you get it there onsite (Japan).
surely once its sold here...price will be lower right?
it is a low end pentax...hmmmz...pls be 900...pls oh camera gods..kit for 900 dollars or lesser..
The funny thing I've observed is Singapore seems to sell them more expensive. I hope Shriro will price it better than the 1000D.

Most Japanese online shops are currently selling the K-m body at S$770 or thereabouts and with kit lens at around S$850. A little cheaper at the brick & mortar stores according to my Jap friend. Wait a while and the price will come down.

So many lens so what ? Can buy all the expensive "L" lenses ? Not everyone got $$$ to splash anyway. ;p Anyway just take a visit to the major photo store like Cathay, Alan and MS Color and you can find most Pentax lenses there. It use to be an issue getting Pentax lenses but starting from this year most of these stores carry almost the whole current range of lenses. The only thing is that the prices (same for other brands as well) are higher than other countries like Hong Kong and the US. But the availability of the lenses are definately there. If you have any issues deciding which lens to buy, you can always ask our friendly Pentaxian family here, we are always here to help. :thumbsup:
For me I got most of my lens locally, new and 2nd hand, as well as from HK and US.

back to the topic...I really hope K-M reaches SG shores fast..i like its size..very good for holiday...Now is playing the wait and see game...PENTAX K-m or Pentax k200d (heard it has slow AF problem...)
