in short - there's no break-thru, overwhelmingly compelling reason for a k-5 owner to get another camera like the k-01 with a form factor as big as the k-5. of course, no harm to get one if you can afford it, just to justify the behahvior of being an ardent fan.
Just thought whether can I mount the Q prime lenses into this kay-jay-one??
Body-only (USD749) is cheaper than the Q kit 01 official release price (USD799).
Q was 999 when it first arrived in Singapore, so perhaps around 920-930??
And some unknow pros need to be found out when we have the actual camera in hands (and we might have it sooner than you think).
(and we might have it sooner than you think).
None of the "so-called" advantages even come close to making-up for the loss of VF and universally loved ergonomics of K5. And price-wise, I don't see why anyone would get this instead of Kr if one wants to take advantage of Pentax K-mount lenses. Perhaps someone who intends to shoot a lot of video?
I just love the design. It is really out of the box thinking (pun intended) and I will definitely get one. The day the mirror and the optical viewfinder has been made redundant for Pentax has arrived. Thank God I didn't get the Q.
For me, everything looks perfect, except missing eye level viewfinder.
Any tips in adapting to use a camera without eye level viewfinder?
So far, all my cameras have eye level viewfinder.
It seems to be difficult for me to hold it steadly 1-2 feet in front of me with DA16-45/F70-210 lens,
while operating the zoom at the same time.
I wonder if the K-01 is an actual replacement for the K-R......
And I actually like an optical viewfinder as well as a LCD screen.
