it doesn't matter who. i've never bought from them before and have no intention to buy from them in the near future.

apologies if i seem to be over-reacting... i just feel strongly about this "before GST" pricing gimmick. its dishonest and to me, it says a lot about how the shop does business.

Agreed. Shops that do that mislead the consumers and give a bad name to the island as a shopping paradise.

I have bad experience in Bally just by asking Pentax stuff. Plus their Infamous background in pricing i rather stay away.

Maybe I should have been clearer. I mean, it's Bally, they're known to pull all the usual tricks to chop any carrot heads that come along. So there's no surprise that they underquote their price by omitting GST, this is mild compared to all the other stories you hear on CS.

Good that you're staying away, I also didn't quite like my experience with them (although I didn't buy anything there).

Finally got my K5 instead of the Kr from Challenger Mini with free tripod and a 8GB card..

Just as an update. Saw more K-r models and colors being sold at Challenger IMM. And they got displayed at the doorway showcase with C&N cameras. Plus they're carrying the K-5 body-only as well. But the price is OMG at $1999 body only.
Lens will be in soon after.
Had a casual chat with the sales rept. He acknowledged that the K-5 was a far superior camera but most often customers came in with C&N in mind from all yhe marketing.

I was checking the Pentax K-r and best denki Vivocity.
$1179 for standard kit seems a bit ex though.

But its good to get Pentax into the main stores.
