Errr..... can't help if you don't state what type of PDA you are using.

Only can tell if you could tell us the brand of our PDA.

Have you also sync your PDA with your PC or laptop before? If yes then you should have all the contacts saved and can be sync back into your PDA.

What happened actually?

I use an O2 mini and always sync with my Mac using Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. Always have data backed-up on Mac now and having had several accidents with the mini, I am glad I paid for the software!

O2 XDA IIs. Actually no, i didn't sync for quite awhile already..

The contacts should still be in your PDA. Or do you mean that you have gotten rid of it already? :dunno:

He mentioned in his first post... all gone.

1) You left your handphone uncharged is it?

WM2003 does not have persistent memory as all the information is stored on the RAM.
The back-up battery would normally last 30 mins before everything is gone.

2) You did a hard reset?

If you did not do a back-up to Outlook/Address Book or to SD card. Your chances are slim.

Anyone else who can help him?

your only backup copy of your contacts are in your PC via ActiveSync... =(

Think there are some IT companies out there that specialise in retrieving of lost data but it's going to cost a small bomb. Unless the contacts are really very very important, guess it's back to the entering of data again from scratch and remember to back up regularly in future. No matter how hi tech devices are these days, there's bound to be hiccups sometimes.

He said saved in PDA.

Save does not equal to back up. He didn't backup and now the the latest updated were gone which might be due to flat battery. Like what Stratix said, if he didn't back up thru AS, backup software or shift those contact to SIM, there is no way to restore the info.

But i don't think they are able to retrive data from PDA's internal memony right? Most of this companies only retrive from media storage.

Not possible on RAM.

RAM on NAND chips do not retain memory without power.

those companies do restoration on disc media or Hard-disk drives.
