PC Show Canon 40D price

u shd go for the extended warranty cos it's only $150 for 450D & u get the free 50mm F1.8 worth $120 which is good for portrait shots. Which means having the extended 2 yrs warranty for a mere $30!! :bsmilie:

got my 40d body only from ms last Wednesday for 1588 inclusive of lens cleaning kit. Canon Singapore also throws in the 2gb ultra II cf as well as a lens book. Pretty much the lowest for a local set I reckon.

If I were you, I'd go back to get it. The lens street price is already $120. Everyone can use a F1.8 50mm. Optics not the best but hey, it's the brightest and fastest you can get for $120.

looking at the link the lightning is providing, i think is too ridiculous to get it from the PC show

1. 4gb ultra 2 (useful)
2. 2gb ultra 2 (not enough)
3. lens book (useless)
4. canon bag (useless)
5. 20 dvd+r (useless)
6. philips 8" lcd picture frame (useless)
7. 120gb maxtor 2.5 external harddisk (SG65, 250GB selling for SG129)
8. tripod (useful guaa)

I think the only thing useful is item 1 and item 7.

I've asked Cathay and MC color. MC color is selling for 1770.

What does the freebies that $1770 include??

Hi, you don't need to get the extended warranty at the PC show, just register your normal warranty online, and select the extended warranty option. You can then picke-up your free-gift from Canon.

juz receive a quote from cathay... 40D body @ 1460.... free 2 bg cf card and philip digital photo frame... i believe px is before GST.... is it a good deal??

if after GST will be 1562. And cathay got the problem of differential quoting. If you sure that it's the price, quite worth the money.

Anyway, brought my relative to buy this package just now. Package as stated. She also registered for the warranty at $250 for 2 years. However, 1 different thing the sales person told me is that registering at the fair gives you 3 months warranty on top of the 3 months free warranty that canon gives you. That amounts to 3 years 6 months inclusive of the original 1 year warranty.

I am quite doubtful of that cause i did not see anything about that in writing anywhere. Had this feeling the sales person is "cannoning" (dua pao xian) away.

it's true. total is 3.5 years warranty if you sign up at the fair. I read it somewhere, forgot. Too many freaking brochures liao. Aiya, I KIVed the purchase cos I thot I had no real use for the harddisk and photo frame, so might as well buy outside.. hmm... then you post want to have the photo frame, my friend smsed me said want the hdd. aiya.. haha... but then again, it'll probably bring the prices down to outside price anyway...

blurboiboi, you confirm the cathay deal already? Is it $1,460 nett price or still must throw in GST? If it's $1,460 nett, with the photo frame, I will go down and get it immediately siah.

If you are getting the eQuote from Cathay, I am pretty sure it is BEFORE GST so you have to add GST to it.

I think Cathay and others are playing the game with providing the lowest quote so they excluded the GST from the price to make it lower. Not sure who started this trend but IMO it is misleading to the potential customers.

Those are the standard freebies as stated on the brochure, if that's all they are giving at $1999 for Kit 1 then I'll pass man. Sony are gving a much better bang for the buck.

Strange that Canon is practising double standards here as there are other forumers who could still apply for the extended warranty n get the free lens even the camera was bought outside the PC Show.
