Sometimes I wonder why these companies appear in computer shows:
1. insurance company
2. visa card company
3. share trading company

should rename to Rojak Lelong Show.

18 bit panels are 16.2m colours.

24 bit panels are 16.7m colours.

:D IIRC, the higher the colour depth, the response time also lengthens.

2^18 = 262,144 colors aka 262k (new cell phone screen use this)

2^24 = 16,777,216 colors aka 16.8 millions

Am I missing something here?

1. insurance company
Incase should one die or hospitalise after playing too much computer

2. visa card company
You need visa to pay for computer but too bad most merchant will charge you extra 2%

3. share trading company
Online trading

Who knows in future we might see...Hawker stall, fashion boutic, Property agent, funiture, lighting, water and electician etc etc :sweatsm:

Correct. The 18 bit LCDs uses dithering to achieve the 16.2m colours. That's why most people here in CS prefers the 24 bits as it's truer colours.

6 bits is not alot but when you do the maths, it kinda shows eh? ;)

i think shd be cheaper than when its on the shelves lah. not too sure abt that, so dun quote me on that :P

The grapevine tells me not much great deals on storage too.

Well, you can always go there and shop for your new insurance policy, your new visa card, your new stock market broker, etc.

got "insider" info... canon would be "represented" by one of their dealers Bally Photo

Maybe I'll pick another 1GB of DDR if the price is good, and I'll get either a DVD burner or a 250GB HDD. But think the prices at PC show is about as good as walking into SLS youself and getting it any other day, but I could be wrong ;p

espn: you don't have spare gaffer tape left meh? That would work for your LCD :bsmilie: :bsmilie:
