can this storage disk device, work with a MAC and PC at the same time??

hi, does the device work for Memory Stick Pro?

Is Eastgear site actually down?

Why is the Compact drive not on the Eastgear site (The sole importer of Compactdrive for Singapore?)

JLK

How is the USB cable? Are the 2 connecting jacks identical and standard to any computer or one jack specific to the compact drive?

Yes, you can use the batteries for all functions, even when linking to the PC via USB.

The adaptor is only needed when you wish to the charge the batteries or when you wish to power the device via AC instead of batteries.
can confirm this?
cos i dont like the idea of carrying an ac adaptor when using it with pc/notebook.
can it store files transfered from pc/notebook (winxp) without using any special software?

You do not need any drivers for Win XP, Win 2000, Win ME.
Drivers are provided for Win 98.

However, the unit needs to be power by either the 4 pieces AA or AC Adaptor. It does not draw power from USB.

I believe just like the way a floppy stores & receives files with the Windows OS only.

According to the manufacturer's site, it is a PD6F rather than PD6X. Maybe the latter is a more recent model?

I bought one yesterday with a 40 GB HD. I find it to be fast and reliable. THe battery life is much better and also you can use any AA size in case you travel and forgetr the charger. YOu can also use it as a USB drive. Plus you can charge your battery while in the hotel.

i suppose the device doesn't work for ms pro?

no it doesn't, unless you use a MS-PRO to CF adaptor

so, i guess it does not work on MAC OSX??

As the user cannot change the hard disk of the PD6X by himself, what to do if he needs to replace (a damaged or crashed) or upgrade one? Send it back to Eastgear ?
