hahaha i'm a superficial person?
lol. the black one looks like a toy esp when fz5 is so light.
silver one looks better.
u know overseas, the black sets cost more. in demand.
got one forum actually say when ppl take the silver set takin photo, nobody will take u seriously. haaa.
and also most of the filters are black.

for me, i like pretty things. it's like if u like the color , the look, the more u will want to use it right?
i think that's just ya own preference.

oh anyway u mixed up the brand of the SD card of AP and CP.
Cathay Photo dun carry kingston

ohhh haha now den i noticed, ok i change it

Hi ppl,
i just bought my FZ5 from MS COLOR.
go there check the cam. notice got thumb print on the lens.
den the person say mabbe lady boss took out to check so unaccidentally pressed.

so he cleaned the lens. i noticed that there are two bubble-like marks in the lens.
i tot he didnt clean properly so i decide to go home and clean myself.

so i was back at my place. took the cam out, fixed on the strap and also the uv filter with adapter. den cleaned the lcd also.
wanted to charge. den realised one charger is missing.
damn i feel so dumb. didnt check properly.

are those bubblelike marks normal? i cannot get rid of it.
think i shd go back and change?

hey junye, think you should bring it down for a look and get ur charger too!
but don't worry, I'm sure everything will eventually turn out fine

$661.5 w GST Panasonic FZ5 (inc. LCD Protector+case)
$30 upgrade to 512mb (kingston pro elite)
$? Hoya UV filter
$? Hoya Skylight filter
$? Tripod

Okies, I'm quite sure I'm going to get these when I buy the FZ5, but can anyone suggest a fairly good and cheap tripod for my FZ5? Any other things I should get? I was thinking of buying in the next few days from MS Color, but now I'm having some doubts, cos I'm a newbie and it's my first time buying a camera... I pray all will go well..!:)

i'm more concerned about those marks. u know when u go from a cold room to hot room den the haze forms? it's likedat. THIS fullstop . big. the other mark is less visible. i tried using a lens cloth to wipe it off but can't.

now because i'm no expert i dunno whether this is normal.
What do u guys think.

i'm using a slik sprint pro GM which costs around 80-90 bucks if im not wrong.. good enough for your fz5 with a heavy wide angle converter.. havent tested it out with a teleconverter tho.. polarizer.. close up lenses can leave for later.. every month buy one new thing.. heh..

when u go back to the shop to ask for the charger ask about the marks.. insist that u get a new set if u really mind the marks

ya i think u better go back n asked abt the mark, my len is crystal clear without any marks

hmmm i just saw a thread about cleaning lens.
just blow hot air with ya breath and clean.
silly me.
now it's all clear!
hahaha stupidity right. at least i learn something.

thanks! but still not as good as those pros..

uv filter, circular polarizer (although i heard a linear polarizer is good enough) and a hoya +4 closeup (which im intending to replace with 2 nikon 4T closeup filters stacked together)..

oh yeah not to mention i do have a wcon 07 which is damn useful.. and soon to acquire a tcon 17 for the f1 powerboat next week..

aim at the sky, turn your polarizer around so the sky appears the darkest, press half shutter, den press full shutter, you got your pic.

process a little using photoshop. or in my case i use picasa 2

oic thanx alot. hehe sorry to teach a noobie like me.

So polarizer n skylight filter lens what is the different? i abit blurr already. And usually people stack filter lens with one another or taking out 1 and replaced with another 1?

hmmmm best to take out, don't stack. BUT... I doubt for now you'll notice much difference in the image qualities. :) Most (AR) An*l Retentive people don't take out the protective filtes at all. they stack on top. Dust may get in. After I get my dSLR, that's how I am now. I really really rather clean the filter.

UV filters absorb UV light and are clear glasses. Skylight filters are colored glasses and usually have a touch of pink. In addition to absorbing UV light, the pinkish color of a Skylight filter can also counter the excessive blue color of the sky in a sunny day, and produce a warmish tone.
Both are fine as "protective filters", it just depends how you prefer the colours to look.

As for polarizer.. it's VERY different. got need a bit more skill also.. need to make sure the sun is at 90 degrees to where your camera is pointing for maximum effect. if the sun is like 180 degrees in line with your subject, you'll see no difference at all.
