thanks for telling eow, cos honestly in the past, I wouldn't have dreamed of buying any camera other than a Canon or Nikon (and maybeeeee an Olympus). But after reading reviews, forums and such, I can see that other brands has their plus points, and Panasonic's has its strengths too in terms of zoom, speed and pic quality.. thumbs up!:thumbsup:

I think I'll have to source around for a good price, and get the FZ5+free 256MB card (maybe upgrade it to 1GB?)+ casing at the moment. Anything else you guys think I should get??

i not sure for other shops. But today i bought my Fz5 at alan photo. The price they quote me on the spot is the same as equote.

hmmm i think for CP you might need. the guy at marina sq branch pretty insistent.
Anyway if u are buying the black there is no problem. For me, i'm getting a silver set. so either it's MS color or CP@Marina. but the SD card for CP is expensive. 110SGD for upgrade! but of cos the card is that silcon card and is much faster. but then i rather buy a kingston pro elite 1G and keep the 256 card.

Panasonic FZ5 can only go at 32x i hear so it's just the ease of transferring fast to your personal computer (thro card reader) if u get anything faster.

Seriously the prices are abt the same lar. a few dollars here and there. I think i still go for the shop that is most polite to me. lol!

No harm calling/walk in lor.



Hopefully i will get the cam by friday. i will die if i dun get my hands on the cam. lol

anytway ettl/ittl = electronic/intelligent through the lens flash.. something like that..
basically it uses the distance/ambient light from sensor plane to the subject, then calculate the amount of flash to burst.
However, don't worry about flashing. It's a totally different area of skill. My teacher told me with flash it's just a matter of getting the technicalities correct, but basic photography skills applies tp both with or without flash.

Wow ... with such research, really squeeze the shop dry But one warning, my 2 friends told me, after i bought from MS, that they have got bad exp there but it's with the quality of used items, not new ones.

lol. the black one looks like a toy esp when fz5 is so light.
silver one looks better.
u know overseas, the black sets cost more. in demand.
got one forum actually say when ppl take the silver set takin photo, nobody will take u seriously. haaa.
and also most of the filters are black.

for me, i like pretty things. it's like if u like the color , the look, the more u will want to use it right?
i think that's just ya own preference.


oh anyway u mixed up the brand of the SD card of AP and CP.

hmmm anyway just a note.. IIRC, silver one discolours a bit due to acid in our sweat.
*shrug* different people different swat contents. Just beware lor..
