hand held, Aperture priority, Flash on FP TTL auto, bounce off the ceiling.

It is. There is actually no mastery in it at all. Just shoot, make sure there is enough overlap and then join. It's very unlike the days of Film, you cannot stretch or tilt or crop to make the negatives fit.

Almost forgotten thread....

That bad..:embrass: where can I find a 2nd hand spyder...suitable for LCD screens.

BTW its under exposed in my screen too.. :)

Tried that. The adobe something...somehow it not that easy.

I used that in my CRT and it better than not calibrating the monitor.. for my laptop, i just adjust my brightness.

Would you get better result with a prime lens? What you have already is exceedingly good, but was wondering with prime lens, would the distortion be even less? Is the 35mm the prime lens for Zuiko?

A Prime Lens is any lens that has a fixed focal length, vs a zoom lens that can change it's focal length by zooming in or out...

The OLY 35mm is a cheap macro but do not discount its performance because of the price.

I recently bought one for my cousin who just recently got her first DSLR (E500) and she's been using it more often than her kit lenses cos it's sharper and gives a nice perspecive.

Oh an one other thing, a Macro lens is worth its weight in gold on rainy days when you're stuck at home with nothing to shoot! :bsmilie:

But back to your question on distorsion, yes; prime lenses tend to have less distorsion issues but there will always be some nonetheless...

Most good stitching programs out there (eg: Panorama Factory) have aglorithiums that take care of the lens distorsion before stitching; but you can also use other programs like PTLens to take care of the distorsion before you move on to stitching.

Ahh...so looks like my next buy would be the 35 mm prime lens. Hehe.

Prime lens also tend to have better resolving power. i.e. higher resolution, sharper images.

This would matter if you plan to blow up your panos on print or allow higher level of magnifcation zoom for interactive panos on a computer display.

Distortion does matter when you have very fine details that you need to stitch. There are times when distortion correction doesn't solve all your problems.

Here's one of my panaroma taken in Hong Kong.
