i am currently using a dmc-fz1. yeah 12x zoom. focusing can be rather slow. somemore alot of times there are too much digital noise, purple fringing.
pathetic flash range. NO HOT-SHOE. NO MANUAL controls.
though the 55mm lens does offer some freedom to attach whatever barang barang the plastic lens adaptor can handle.

i dont really think the leica lens has proved it's worth for my camera. and honestly the focusing is like junk.

the optical images stabiliser abit unproven...maybe because i havent used other digital cameras without the function and dunno how serious and obvious and how common handshake can be ?

the lag time for saving images to card is rather fast.
lag time b/w pressing shutter and pic being taken is slow.

shutter speed.... 8 to 1/2000
aperature 2.8 to 8.0 (2.8 constant)

u wanna the cam to use f8 and 1/2000 ? aim at the sun....

go get the s5000 or olympus c730/40/50 with this price.

maybe the Fz10 will solve this problem.........

OT:

do u think will the moderators be interested to set up a Panasonic/ Casio forum? :D

dun think this is possible..cause there are too few panasonic user here

Dear Panasonic Digi-Cam Hobbyist,

Seems Panasonic digi-cam is very popular here though it's not famous. :blah:

Has anyone experienced Lumix LC43 other than LC20? I am new to this brand of digi-cam. Pls share with us your outcomes, comments on this model. If possible, a sample pict is mostly welcomed. :bsmilie:

Thanks a lot...

i have tried lc33 before (outdoor shots only)....the pic quality is about the same(as my lc20)...but the focusing is much faster (very much)think is because of the "VENUS" engine...and it is also lighter and smaller.....the rest i guess u have to go website and read.....

Hey. Another Panasonic user here. :bsmilie:
New here though. Just got a new FZ1. The 12X optical zoom kinda rox. But I agree with acetylcholine that the auto focusing is kinda slow. Got this camera because my fren recommended... I feel like I got cheated ;(
Haven tried printing the pics into photos, so don't really know the quality. Hey! I'm just a newbie! :) The so-called "Stabilizer" really sux. Maybe I just can't get use to it. Will be getting a tripod. :p

If you have one that you wish to let go at a reasonable price, sms me please at 91834648. Thanks.

actually i feel the stabiliser works.
if u look at it carefully, alot of times the shutter speed is well below 1/200 and most pics do not give u handshake. i feel that anything below 1/200 without a stabiliser or tripod gives u handshake.

try switching it off and see the effect.

apologise for OT, but isn't this suppose to be white or did you change the color??

Looking forward for the PANASONIC DMC-LC1

Not heard of slave flash capability for this cam. Just found that this cam can take good nite shot too. Hey your Fullerton Hotel nite shot is great. Did you enhance it? I tried the nite shot at fullerton too, am happy with it. No enhancement required.

Hehe, did not set manual white balance to get white snow coz can't see footprint clearly in white! Somehow shaded snow looks blueish. Don't know why, but I like it.
Note: Pic was taken in shaded snow bcoz of own shadow will cast over it.

hi, i'm a Panasonic FZ-10 user. please with it performance especially the 12x zoom and not forgetting the "anti-jitter". a good camera to invest on but prepare to spend some money on gettin a bigger bag as this baby is a monster with a large 72mm lens. Outstanding among the others .....

Hi,

How's the FZ-10? seems like quite good specs....was recently featured in computer times also....

FZ-1 user here since Dec-2003. Just upgraded the firmware to v2.0 1 week after purchase and it performs like FZ-2. The pictures turn out great outdoor and even tried in studio shootout. Even its weakness in low-lighting and noise, as long as one master the characteristic of the camera and photogrpahy techniques, one can turn out great picture.
It took sometime for me to consider between this camera and other Ultrazoom than as FZ-1 is 2MP.
Here's a article for those who cant decide on where to go over the Lens or Megapixels .....

:)

Actually wanted to wait for FZ-10 but wasnt sure when it arrive on shore and cant wait then.
Anyway love this cam cos of the 12X, IS and well produced shoots. ;)

Been using film SLR (Canon A-1) for a decade but retired it as it had gone through wear and tear (winter snow, wet weather, sand, etc ...). The 28-80mm lens even had fungus after all these times. It had serve very well.

Now I hope the FZ-1 will also serve me for years to come. :bsmilie:
Its lighter and thus will revive me on carry it out more often.

Might considering getting the FZ-10 for its full manual setting, hotshoe and 4 MP in near future when $prices$ drops.

Cheers

Hi Andy,

Mind to tell me how much did you pay for this camera, where did you get it and what does the whole package included? Think of getting one.
