The question now is PRICE

I wonder how it will look like with EVF and how the cable to connect it to camera protudes out.

Haha. Agreed. :D Because sometimes bringing work cameras out for leisure seems overkill and intimidating if wanna take street shots. But Im only a serious hobbyist/camera tech idol. Thus my income doesnt comes from photography. So need to start saving. The only worry is like what you mentioned, the flash looks flimsy. Will probably close back itself in Class 2 typhoon type. :bsmilie:

Seems like with electronic viewfinder looks cool too. Better then those wide angle add on viewfinder on Voigtlander RF. If price really around a Olympus EP-1, Im sure gonna get it after working during holidays. Thanks for the poisonous link.

You have checked the price already? So fast hit our shores? Thought only available in US side.

Agree, and sometimes may be inappropriate or even attract criminal attention. I don't know how compact is the GF1 but I'm sure it'll attract less attention than a DSLR.

r u sure it's so cheap? that price beats Pen upside down..

BTW can the 14-42 of PEN be used on GF1?

From the G1 review I observe the 14-45 is not so good..

$900 is USD.

i guess rrp to be 1299 or 1399 in SGD. for 20mm or 14-45mm kit.

Thanks... look at that! shooting from hip, EVF that can be tilted 90deg. Makes sense now why no swivel LCD screen.
The eyecup is comfortable and the screen inside well shielded from sunlight - just don't expect anything as impressive as found on the G1/GH1 when you peer inside.

Hmm... have to wait and see why dpreview quoted above is it EVF not bright enough vs G1/GH1?

I like the loop design for the straps, now I if there is nice matching leather case tanned or faded would be fitting to the camera, since it is Panasonic and Leica may have one coming along, I think Luigi may make one soon.

The GF1 evf has only got 202K pixels resolution, whereas the G1/GH1 I think got 1M pixels. And people may be interested in its refresh rate ie. whether it is as smooth as in G1/GH1. UK rrp is £186, so taking into account the UK rip off factor, maybe make it £150, so in Singapore dollars about S$350. So expensive I would rather buy a lens, thankfully I don't use evf..

I think at that price, more likely to be US dollars,

14-42 of PEN,or another other lens produce by either manufacture works with each other

Well, it's still alright to begin with step-by-step(in terms of buying any add-on/accessories) on your purchase of new 'gear' since if you're a student and buying 'tech-gadgets' from your especially, agree;)

As for precaution of 'built-in flash' will:bheart:or not, that's our(user of GF-1) 'duty+responsibility' to handle and take:thumbsup:best care of it, yah??=)

Certainly;), and that's what I'm rather sure it'll be:thumbsup::cool:

The big question is... Why no in-body image stabilization?

Meaning IS LENS will be bigger, heavier and more expensive? Hmm...

panasonic,as far as i can remember, never really went into in body image stabilisation
