And good news for those like me that bought the camera during the first 2 weeks of launch (end Sept)! Panasonic has extended this free redemption for us too

Bring the warranty card, receipt and identification card to the Panasonic Customer Care centre at Bedok.

Did Panasonic state this anywhere? Call to enquire and they claim dun have the freebie promotion for the sept purchase.

Looks like it might have been on a special exception case that u got it... Now the floodgates is opened. In future, Panasonic management will be potentially more wary about handling such requests...

I'm not trying to side Panasonic but it is not fair to say they are "penalizing". Nobody was forced to buy the gx8 w/o extra battery/sd card. I think the earlier one that was given was out of goodwill/exceptional handling. Anyway, just sleep it over. The battery life is not that bad to really require a 2nd battery.
