Panasonic SG just officially announced the launch of GH4 today in their Facebook.
Price is $3399/- for the 12-35mm kit lens package.

Funny thing though it is only available at Cathay Photo and Allan Photo ....
Wonder how come MScolor, SSLR, AWF not mentioned.

It would be wiser to get the body alone.
12-35 going as low as 850 in bns

I thought it was posted a few day earlier that Panasonic Singapore has declared that they have not launched the GH4 locally yet. How is it that it is available with local warranty at Funan last week? :dunno:

I suspect it is a case of "playing with words".

The term "local warranty" can be misleading. A set can be no warranty from Panasonic Singapore. But then the shop based in Singapore can say he give warranty, anything goes back to him. Since the shop is also in Singapore, so "local warranty" is technically not wrong.

So, the key question to ask the shop is, is the warranty given by "Panasonic Singapore "

Would have helped if you indicated that in your post upfront, as all you posted was:

I have been quoted SGD5200 for the body and the 12-35mm lens.

Most would assume 'body' to really mean just body only, as the YAGH is a separate attachment/kit.
My guess was correct then. Good to know local prices are fairly on par with US prices (usually lower).

Haha! Would be realistic if it's actually the price of DMC-GH4-YAGH (US$3298) + 12-35 (US$898).

Well, if I knew it beforehand there'll the extra unit included, I would not have post the question. In the quotation it was only mentioned as GH4 kit (body + lens). I was not convinced and asked them to re-quote me. I proceeded to post here to check up on the price as well.

Actually I thought you are a retailer selling cameras as you get quotations from your suppliers where as most of us here goto a shop and ask for the price.

As such, I would have thought that as a retailer, you should have known better about the price than us here ?

I keep hearing that the benefits of shooting in 4K and downsampled to 10800p is that we can have very detailed sample.

But then, if we are using FCPX, we still have to import this whole 4K clips into FCPX, right ?

Wouldn't the amount of harddisk space will be enormous ?

Well , u have to know the RRP for the lens is $1688 (hope I remember correctly)

I am not sure but I don't think the RRP for 12-35 is $1688 now. $1688 could be some time ago ...
