wow... wat is a raynox dcr-2025pro and a adaptor ??? paiseh very noob about this

that's a 2X teleconverter. meaning your camera will get 36x optical zoom. and if in EZ mode can go to 63x optical zoom and reach the moon.

ah i see... thanks... anyway was looking at panasonic official website... doesn't seem to have much add on or description...

there got this ND filter, to lower light intensity...

close up len i'm not sure how it help (if anyone could help me)

wide angle and teleconvertor quite obvious for its purpose

and this MC protector... which i think is use to protect the lens bah...

so now i see actually fz18 can also use other brand add on other than the one been name by lumix

basically anything can be used. just need a step up or down adaptor. you'll need the lens adaptor tube, part no DMW-LA3, or third party tube like the PA62E.

yea... previous post tat person posted this... but i dun find it awesome, as the edge of the moon wasn't really sharp... and tats why i hate to zoom and seldom use zoom whenever possible... so for me i will never get a teleconvertor.. wide angle maybe still can

haizz.. still not very sure what add-on and where to get... as in, dun really know which place to trust...

at maximum zoom, a little bit of shake will means alot (i hope u get wat i mean)... so i guess the image stablilzer can't help for tat... when i use max zoom i will use a tripod usually... if not i will not use zoom to the max at all

Actually i have a set of peramaal adapter but apparently no one really wants. LOL.:dunno:

Jus bot the FZ18 recently and added the Raynox DCR-250 last Friday. Have been taking macro shots of some of my watches. Not sure how to post photos here, but I jus uploaded them at member's galleries here..my first macro attempt :

http://gallery.clubsnap.com/showgallery.php/cat/500/ppuser/55727

Realised I will need to have remote live view on my laptop. The LCD of the FZ18 is too small to detect the dust on my watches.. had a shock when I review the photos on my computer screen to see so much dust and dirt !!... Any idea how I can do this remote live view with the FZ18 ? Also, its frustrating not to have remote shutter release.. the camera will shake like crazy when I press the shutter, so have to resort to using the self-timer, which is time consuming.. I guess need to have lots of patience in macro photography.. I'm also a noob at PP, so jus adjust here and there until I like the look..

fz18 can take 46mm(extending barrel) and 55mm(outer fixed barrel)

in order to use a macro lense, or teleconverter, you'll need an adaptor tube. panasonic has this as an optional part(DMW-LA3) but it's very hard to find in shops. you can also get third party brandless tube outside at cheaper price.

now comes the problem of using this type of tubes. they cause vignetting at wide angle aka 28mm. and in order to shoot without vignetting, you got to remove the tube. then one smart alex from dpreview.com came out with an idea of this peramaal adapter tube, which if unused, can be "shortened" by turning the tube inwards, thus solved the vignetting problem.

there are quite a few guys who bought this peramaal adapter and had them permanantly fixed onto their fz18. i'm one of them.

by using this peramaal adapter, it'll also step up the thread size to 62mm, as it's code name PA62E suggested.
