[ Outing ] : Sep Photowalk and Kopi Session - 25 Sep, 3pm,Little India

its going to be warm so dress comfortably and try not to bring too much gear. its good discipline to shoot with what you have on hand. i'll recommend that everyone to just have 1 camera and 1 lens and a bottle of water, nothing more.

To all seasoned bros and sis here any recommendationed what type of lens is good for such activities? UWA, Tele or short tele etc? And filters also CPL, ND, UV-Haze etc?

all these are very good info for all newbies like me :lovegrin:

Anything goes actually, depends on what you're aiming to shoot despite being a street photography walk, can use UWA to shoot buildings, can also use tele to shoot buildings, etc.

For filters,I'd suggest leaving UV on and polarizing filter, otherwise,UV is pretty much good enough

If only it wasn't the F1 weekend...

Next time arrange one in China. So that I can join you guys... missing everyone... have fun! This is going to be good.

cannot la, not productive to shoot in china...will spend more time eating :bsmilie:

What about the F1 weekend?
I guess she will be watching the F1 or be in some of the F1 activities/concerts??

Yup yup, going to the race. :D
Don't think I will be able to get much nice captures with my lack of experience and equipment but will see what I can do with the e620 + 40-150mm.

Do remember to bring ear plugs, people complain its loud, I complained it was a little loud and itchy for my ears everytime they drive pass:bsmilie:

good luck i think best way top get nice photo at the starting of the race where they prep for the actual race and also the race girls . Borrow 50-200 from Spidey lols

BTW anyone still uses and owns these two lenses?

18-180 or 70-300?

Yeah once bitten twice shy. Had the good fortune of going to the inaugural practice session in 2008 and was too foolhardy to bring or buy earplugs. Nearly went deaf after 30 mins of sitting there in the stands.

Eh I'm not into race girls leh... But considering ours is the bay grandstand, it'll probably be hard to get to the starting area anyways due to different entry gates. Plus my friend isn't that into photography so not like I can drag her to squeeze with the crowds and push through all the other photographers. (I'm more likely to get dragged to the concert area by her. :bsmilie:)

As to borrowing the 50-200mm... tempting, but I would be too afraid of dropping and breaking it. :sweatsm:

hi... is the photowalk full? Can i join in too...

Little india is a nice place to shoot...
