Yes, it creates very nice effects especially for landscape shots .

Currently, I'm still practicing doing IR portraits on models (using an unmodded camera), which some ;p people, don't like the effects.

The coloured one is post processing in photoshop and using the correct white balance is easier for the post process.

There's alot of info that you can refer to in the IR usergroup forum, maybe you can pay it a visit and experiment with various colours.

Also note that ur 30D might need a longer exposure .
