any idea what they sell the tamron 28-75 for EOS ?

If the prices are hit and miss depending on which, why not we start compiling an OP Price list to help us make informed choices...and to encourage them adjust the not so attarctive prices.....

I don't think it's very fair to them. They are just trying to survive as a business. If you like their prices then buy from them, otherwise if you think you rather go for price then service then go somewhere else.

If that had any feasibility people would have been doing it to Cathay Photo, Alan Photo, MS Colour.

It doesn't, it's a free market, where consumers -should- be making informed decisions of their own and not forcing sellers to adjust to their demands, if that was the case then we'd all be getting free lenses already.

Be proactive - ask for quotes from all of them, it only takes about 5 phone calls , 1 to each, and perhaps about 15 minutes of your time. And you get first-hand FRESH information. =)

If you are for it, why don't you be the facilitator and administrate this project personally to 'benefits' the CSers?

what night86mare meant was for the buyer who wanted a certain item to call the popular shops for the latest pricing information. This would allow the buyer to know who was selling @ the lowest price. Sounds like gd advice to me, that's what I do most of the time.

Even if night86mare had the time, how is he supposed to do it for everyone? :dunno: :bsmilie:

I'll bet just listing ALL the items on sale is already quite impossible!! :bsmilie:

i believe there is already such a list, for example...:
for nikon:http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=151190
for canon:http://forums.clubsnap.org/forumdisplay.php?f=39

but u must note that people only ask for the lens/bodies/accessories they are interested, not all the lens available...and so some prices will be out-of date...best way? i guess that will be calling up the shops and ask...

Dropped by OP today. For smaller items, the prices are not that great. Paid $225 TC-80N3 while CP charges $210.

For bigger ticket items, the prices are extremely good. For example, the best price I've seen for the Canon 24-105L is $1470. The Canon 180mm Macro is $2150, very good compared to the establised players, but not the best that I've been quoted elsewhere ($2050), though I know it should be around $19xx.

For Leica, the prices I've seen are way better than even the Internet. Even got stock for the Noctilux :). Same for Gitzo tripods.

Service is very good and they are quite helpful to give quotes.

I was quoted, but did not ask to see it since I'm not sure the Summilux is sufficient or not.

Yup they are indeed very friendly. Visted their shop about 2 months ago where they just started business. As what most of them said, some are cheaper. However, try asking them for the warranty you get when you purchase the len. I did ask the price of Nikon 28~70 mm f2.8, they quoted me S$2200/- but not local warranty.

bros, pls take note. NOT everything is CHEAP, do yr homework 1st.

Price aside, positive experience re their service is one big selling point, not just the price.

If the price difference is $10 or $20 I'd rather let good service people earn because they deserve it more than grumpy old uncles who glare at you and obviously can't really be bothered to answer your queries. =D

Agree. :bsmilie:

i am very impressed with their service too !

feel very comfortable inside browsing, not like other popular shops where i felt pressured.

5***** rating !

Totally agree!! If at all slighly pricier, no worries as good service is a far more satisfying experience making the extra 10 or 20 worth it and deserving! How many times have i felt lousy walking out of a shop even with a good bargain coz the sales staff made it such an ordeal to buy there.

And if OP is cheaper, then hey that's a big bonus coz u save $$$ and yet get super super service!

I rather get kingston elite pro 50x 1GB at about $17.50... at least got lifetime warranty.

pls correct me if i am wrong.....when i bought my Kingston card last year, was told that the Lifetime Warranty only applicable to certain regions (US & Europe, i think)....for Asia, Kingston only provide 5 yrs warranty...

can someone in the know clarify?? TIA...

if after their business picked up to te level of those other popular camera shops and yet still provide the same level of service, environment and pricing as of now, then it would be the "REAL" 5***** rating ;)
