Bravo to organiser for speaking up to clear the air. I humbly request TS to close this thread if TS is happy with organiser explanation. This is just so the thread will not degenerate further by some kid blasting post of no real useful value while hiding behind his monitor.

wah only one i see hiding is you. i'm not the one who started name calling calling people piss and urine. so please u want to insult me more publicly go ahead. It just shows what a low person u are.

on another note; roy i see what you're trying to do but to be fair it should also be raised about how some of these participants pay a paltry amount of money and expect the moon from the organizer. it's been pretty plain and obvious this hasn't been a feedback motivated thread but a bitching session by people who are more interested in spewing vitriol. If this is indeed intended to be a feedback thread then it should be restarted with a blank slate and the mods should "encourage" that this is a thread intended for civilized adult discussion. not name calling and childish vengeance seeking.

A feedback system is always good ... but again an open feedback system can be a potential for abuse ...

1) How do we monitor "only members who have attended the shoot can vote"?
2) Otherwise organisers can sabotage each other just to cut a bigger share of the pie

I am all for a feedback and rating system ... but it has to be a fair and "as transparent as possible" system.

also how do u define excellent service? if a org just kow tow and do everything for the shooter does that count as excellent service? because that seems to be the basis of the original compliant that started this thread.

it would be very interesting if the organizers came up with their own ratings as well...one to rate customers who flake or are just waaaaay too demanding. this thread should highlight both sides of the coin not just be one sided to over demanding customers who gripe about the lack of drinks provided at a session.

A couple of your posts raising that point was left untouched.

Well the title of the thread has a strong indication that this is a venting thread in the first place. I did a clean up and let it run for a while in the hope that it will remain civil and more importantly, constructive.

Perhaps it is time to close this thread and start a new one titled "What do we expect from Organised Shoots?" and members can post what they think are well organised and high quality shoots that appeals to them. The Shoot organisers can then take that as a free market survey, and use the information to improve their service.

Thanks to all participants who made this shoot a success~! ...... Do u think so?

You smsed me on 28th Sat early morning 0130am asking me if i'm attending yr 9am shoot. I replied YES.

Then WHAT happened?

28th Sat 0810am u ask another person to sms me saying the shoot is cancealled.
Due to many photographers pulled out last min today.
Friend.... I'm half way to the location. U know how "happy" am i to read that sms?

If u think a "SORRY" can make my day... then thank you.

PLEASE DO NOT ACCUSED US PHOTOGRAPHERS FOR MAKING YOUR SHOOT A FAILURE.

We are your customers. Not your "EXERCISE TARGET".

Please reflect your attitude & partnerships.

This post above confirms that it is time to close this thread.

Anyone interested please create a new thread with a more constructive title, such as the one I proposed.

There are bad sellers, bad buyers, bad organizers, and definitely bad photographers (skills and behaviour inclusive). Venting is good in a sense that sometimes it helps reduce stress, but not al the time. I have seen enough cases of people venting their frustration or disappointment about something online and then ended up being more upset, because there is not way that one person can make the whole world agree to his viewpoint.

Finally, even if we have the most civil and constructive discussion about how organized shoot can be made better for both photographers and organizers, it is still a free market and there are real world limitations (as well as black sheeps) that will prevent the ideal shoot from happenning all the time. When you sign up for a shoot, take that into consideration, and adjust your expectations accordingly.
