Ordering from adorama

I am planning to buy some lenses and bodies from adorama, a US based camera retailer. Would like to hear some experiences from anyone who bought from them(or any US) retailers. What i am worrying about is that the warranty is pretty fishy. I saw this MACK worldwide warranty coverage, but still did not quite understand how they exactly work.

I had some problem with them accepting my credit card. Apparently, they have a procedure for verfiying that the credit card info is credible. You will have to call the credit card company to register the billing address and delivery address. Once that is verified, the rest of the process is quite smooth.

They have a helpdesk which is quite useful and responsive. When the help chatline is open, you can chat with them in real-time to resolve issues.

Adorama is one of the most reputable shops in US. MACK warranty simply means that the warranty is provided by Adorama (through MACK) and not by the original equipment manufacturer.

It's normally the case for grey products, or for products where Adorama wants to provide a warranty longer than what the manufacturer is willing to provide. Kind of similar to Harvey Norman's 5-year warranty here.

Basically, Adorama or Harvey Norman is betting that they can collect enough from selling this warranty to pay third-party repairmen to service any breakdown for 5 years, and still make a profit.

Nothing wrong with this business practice per se. Only problem is that since MACK is in the US, if you have a problem, turnaround time will be quite long.

I have just done it recently with him without any problem thru credit card or paypal.

just recieve items from them, order Saturday night, they ship on monday, thursday morning you get the item.

wow.... so international warranty really means international shipping to US?
