The orange needs more detail.
Try a different orange?
i think you need to get a better knife to cut the orange, cos either that, your pic might be photoshopped to the extend that your magic brush or lasso not doing a good job, check last pic.
and i doubt its a problem of the orange details, more like the focusing, look more like OOF, cos water sharp, skin of orange soft.
lol Does it looked PSed? I'm not used to cutting the orange in this shape. It's not really the focusing also, cos I took about 20 shots. I tested focusing above water level, at water level and below water level. The aperture was at F11. The detail was better when I focus, but when flash comes into the picture, the detail of the orange is overcomed. So I think I'll need an orange with more texture, and position the flash away with a PC sync cable.
maybe the oranged details went off because it is too wet when u took so many shots with the same orange, *taking out of the water n throw it again*
Maybe a different angle of flash/lighting might bring out more details?
BTW, how did you trigger a shot? Trial and error?
No other orange liao. My ideal fruits for this will be strawberry or kiwi slice. More texture. I'll try again when I have the chance.
dunk lychee!! :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie: good texture.. hahaha

I'm using a simple flash, I think it's 1/1k s whereas the shutter is 1/2k. So the flash might be too powerful. Trigger shot is done by release cable, I'm used to taking water droplets, so the orange is quite easy for me;p
i think it's a good shot even though the orange looks a little wet.. can tell that it has jumped into the cup for many times.. but think u r creative.. could u give detailed description of how u did it and the specs? would like to try it out.. hee..
