Opinion to Decide to buy Nikon D7000 or Pentax K5

@TS, do note that you are buying a SYSTEM, not a camera. To me the greatest difference between the two cam bodies alone is that the "vibration reduction" of the k5 or rather pentax bodies in general. Nikon system uses VR in lenses. But of cos it isn't that big a deal unless you want VR in prime lenses.

Pentax had recently been sold to Ricoh. Depending on the new owner's directions, there might be a change in how the brand is poised, lens and all.

My take is if you have decided on Pentax maybe you should buy used to cut some cost just in case.

Yes. Could be good or bad. If they retain K-mount, which will be stupid if they dun, but stop producing some of the lenses, then it will be a good time to invest in some legendary prime lenses and earn some quick bucks later.

Not everyone rich like you keep all lens and stay as "true photographer" luh haha. no point getting various primes and zooms that stack with same focal lengths and apertures.

Both are great camera. You wouldn't go wrong with either of them.
Camera body is like 1/3 of the equation. The 2/3 comes from the lenses. Spend more time thinking which lenses are more suitable for your type of photography.

A photographer is a person who makes photographs. So a true photographer must be a person who truly makes photographs.

Both are good camera's.

Just buy one and never look back, look at them both, choose what your heart and mind loves... Then start shooting and start sharing your photos =)
